siamu maharaj June 25th, 2007, 12:04 PM I would guess 170-200 m
Yeah, my guess is the same. Most probably 200m. It doesn't have a spire, but the glasses (or glass-like things) do extend above the top. So I expect it to touch 200m.
ArchiPak June 25th, 2007, 02:00 PM I would guess 170-200 m
They said 47 floors. So the height should be somewhat around 160 meters or so.

ZK June 25th, 2007, 10:27 PM They said 47 floors. So the height should be somewhat around 160 meters or so.
But the glass type thing on the top would certainly add extra meters.....So i think it will be definitely be near 200m

siamu maharaj June 26th, 2007, 09:01 AM But the glass type thing on the top would certainly add extra meters.....So i think it will be definitely be near 200m
Actually, it might touch 200m, assuming this render is accurate. The square windows on the sides represent 41 stories. Now add to that the top glasses (~12-15 stories in height) and the basement area (~6-8 stories in height). So, in terms of those middle stories, it'd be around 59-64 stories tall. All told, it would almost touch 200m.

What are you talking about? I have been to almost all of those areas and the roads are far from being excellent.
I agree the geography is as harsh as one can imagine but still a lot needs to be done to provide proper roads. A lot is being done but at the present moment they are not that good.
Anyway, this is the Grand Hyatt thread. Lets wait and see when we can find some pictures on it.

Well I have been on all the roads as well and the MAIN roads are in very good condition. You might not be aware but NHA just recently fixed most of the roads and they are working in Swat now to do the same there as well. Even the tribal area's are getting better roads thanks to the NHA.

They can be. It's pretty common to have trees in buildings. I think MCB does too.
Intoxication May 11th, 2008, 04:32 PM Reardonsmiths (http://www.reardonsmith.com/projects/ghyis.html#)are the consultant architects of this hotel.
An iconic new tower, some 200 metres tall, was chosen by Hyatt to accommodate its first hotel in Islamabad and ReardonSmith was appointed as Hotel Operational Consultants to work with the developer, the local architect, Arcop, and Hyatt. In this capacity, ReardonSmith was responsible for guiding the internal planning of the hotel element within the tower to meet Hyatt’s requirements as well as for the further development of some elements of the faēade. The scheme for the Grand Hyatt Islamabad included ballrooms, restaurants and spa together with 360 guestrooms and several floors of serviced apartments. Arrival was to be via an express lift to the Sky Lobby at level 42 with bedroom floors below and public areas and apartments above.

But this post by JADI says that it will be 217 meters tall. So which one is its actual height? 200m or 217 m?? :?
Chinese Construction Company to construct International standard hotel costing $200 mln
Executive Director of China Estate Engineering Corporation informed that the height of 45 storey building would be 217 meter while 21 upper storeys have been reserved for hotel while shopping malls and other offices would be constructed on the lower 24 buildings. The tower would be highest tower of the country. http://www.onlinenews.com.pk/details.php?id=115639

brightside. June 3rd, 2008, 11:23 PM CAN A MOD PLEASE EDIT THE TITLE TO SAY 712 FT?
I would like to see heights of all projects in feet, as that is the most common unit used for height in Pakistan, and I can only judge how tall something is if I see height in feet. I request KB or Fahad to edit all threads to give height in feet. Thanks.
Intoxication June 3rd, 2008, 11:29 PM ^^ There is no need to remove what it says in metres! Just add the height in feet ALONGSIDE it.

Detailing in meters and feet helps people to assess the height irrespective of their preferred unit of measurement.

Yeah, it's fine if the mods wanna keep the height in meters, but the height in ft should be mentioned first, as that is the primary height unit in Pakistan.
Nobody there uses meters outside of engineering.
KB June 4th, 2008, 03:25 PM I will put the heights in feets during the weekend (hopefully).
