Almost all top Asian carries ( Malaysia, Singapore, Thai, Cathay ) have PTVs in all seats in almost all of its aircraft. From K/Lumpur there are 21 flights a week to Tokyo ( 14 on B777, 7 flights on B747 ) Osaka ( 14 X ), Nagoya ( 5 X ) and Fukuoka (3 X )

Skyprince, ^^ your above statement is wrong!!! Singapore Airlines doesn't have PTV's on seats in "almost" all aircraft like Malaysia Airlines or Thai Airways, It actually DOES have PTV's in ALL aircraft!!!! Big difference!! Malaysia Airlines only has half of its fleet with PTV's(50 planes), no where near "almost all" and no where near its main competitors. SO stop exagerating!!!!! There is no need for that!!! Skyprince if Malaysia Airlines had used an A330-300 on your route, which it does to North Asia, you wouldn't have gotten PTV's!

By the way everyone, Malaysia Airlines route to Fukuoka is to get axed by next year as part of its always constant "turn around strategy" to profitability. Along with Stockholm, New York and a few others.

The tidak apa attitude.

IMHO No matter if the airline hasn't made a profit in years, the Malaysian public has and will be happy to subsidize and bail this airline.

Whilst other Asian carriers have more frequencies to destinations, bigger PTV's in ALL their aircraft, better amenities, what particularly impresses me is that other Asian carriers don't bother the public coffers of their home country like the way Malaysia Airlines shamefully does.

So next time you're flying Malaysia Airlines thank the Malaysian people and the hardworking tax payers for actually financially molly coddling and supporting this airline afloat, without the public bail outs this airline wouldn't be flying. It has not made a profit in years, it flies at a loss to a majority of its overseas international destinations. So yes, thank the Malaysian tax payers.

Next time you fly Malaysia Airlines, thanks are in order to those that have made the airline still flying a possibility. Thanks are needed to the Chinese Malaysians since they are the largest tax paying individuals in the country. Next I would like to say Thank you to Petronas the largest tax paying Malaysian corporation. Without these contributors there would not be a Malaysia Airlines the way we see them now. So for my future and previous flights on Malaysia Airlines, Thank you Chinese Malaysians, Thank you Petronas.

I recently flew on NGO-KUL and KUL-Cairo route and I found MH service has been improving a lot. Food has become bigger in amount; IFE has more channels; 34' legroom which is the best in Asia ( together with TG ) , friendly staffs, etc. But one thing-- Enrich has let MH image down.

Hehehehe... sorry Miss Subangite for my tidak apa attitude. Yes, of course if I fly out of Fukuoka for example , there will be no PTV on my seat therefore I couldn't make any flight reports. SQ has PTVs in all of its aircrafts, MH does not provide PTVs in all domestic sectors plus some international routes operated on 737 and A330. Im ot sure about TG and CX.

Next I would like to say Thank you to Petronas the largest tax paying Malaysian corporation

Petronas is the fuel provider while MH is a fuel consumer. It's an obligatory for a giant profit-making public corporation to back up the loss-making ones.

Don't be so touchy lah, I didn't say it was your tidak apa attitude? Whats this "MISS" Subangite? Lets not take it personal shall we?

The majority of MAS aircraft are NOT equipped with PTV's. This is a fact. Over 50 Aircraft! Compared to only barely 30ish that are equipped with PTV's. All I'm saying is lets not exagerate to the whole world and say boastfully that almost ALL aircraft of MH are equipped with PTV's, when this is absolute bull. You know it too.

And Anyways Who ever said you couldn't make a flight report without PTV's? I don't care too much for PTV's personally, I either read a book or catch on sleep.

So skyprince, don't be too touchy. My post wasn't a comment directed at you but at MAS, so stop being such a girl! Take it easy.

Petronas is the fuel provider while MH is a fuel consumer. It's an obligatory for a giant profit-making public corporation to back up the loss-making ones.

Come on!! Its not obligatory, only in Bolehland does it occur, if its obligatory it would happen elsewhere on earth!! About your point concerning fuel provider, consumer, your logic doesn't make sense!! Consumers BUY from Producers in a free market framework so that allocation of resources can be maximised!!! To illustrate my point, Does BP bail out British Airways??? Does Royal Dutch Shell bail out KLM??? Does Total bail out Air France??? Does OMV bail out Austrian Airlines?? Does Chevron, ExxonMobil bail out any of the American Airlines? No No No No!! It doesn't happen anywhere in the world. Because its a waste of public money! Money that could be spent on the poor? What, now Malaysia doesn't have any poor that money can so easily be wastefully spent on an loss making airline, so that loss making international routes could be subsidized by other peoples money???

Also Why is MH making a loss when other airlines in the region post profits??? Tell me this? I mean Malaysia Airlines is operating in a part of the world where air travel is actually booming, yet its still a basket case airline with a history of yearly losses, shamefully gone to taxpayers to bail them out!

So I guess for you my dear Skyprince, as you have noted, in your eyes it is an "obligation" for you that the government bails them out, its is an obligation for Petronas and Chinese Malaysians (2 of the largest tax contributors) to continue funding the bail outs and in subsidizing flights a plethora "show off" loss making routes, perhaps so that maybe you have the luxury to be able to talk on international forums to say how great the airline is, how it has PTV's in almost ALL its aircraft.

Don't get me started with Enrich. They've robbed me of one too many air miles, crediting one route but not the return leg, even after emails. I've switched FF though I still have a dormant enrich card.

I'm now one of the 13 million folks that is in Miles and More, which I currently have with Frequent Traveller status, going on to Senator status hopefully soon, right now the FT is equivalent to a standard star alliance silver access. I tried Enrich, I totally did, MAS still has the tidak apa attitude, they didn't bother to credit my miles!

And Malaysianboy another thing, MAS stopped giving out amenities pack in economy. Personally I've had more food and drinks on 1hr segments on domestic QANTAS than I have on 1hr regional or domestic MAS flights.

My such big words from you! What complaint am I making??? Oh I forget, you're malay, we have to tell everyone we are the best at everything, Malaysia Airlines is the best, everything is the best. Sorry, I just call it how I see it, just because its Malaysia Airlines does not mean it deserves my support or money, the best product, the best price, deserves my money.

Are you one of those budak Petronas thats in Japan because of a scholarship exclusive to malays?

You should be glad you were not sitting next to me, I would have surely turned you in to security for using electronical devices during takeoff and landing. It's assholes like you who cause accidents.

Hehe. Just kidding. ;)

PTVs are old news though, for intercontinental flights these became commonplace for economy class five years ago, or whenever the 777 was introduced. I'd be excited again if they'd even install them on old 737s used by EasyJet for short hauls.
