This project will be located on the site of the former St.Regis Hotel.

According to the final EIR... it looks like they added 3 floors???

The proposed project would involve the removal of the former St. Regis Hotel building and the development of 147 luxury residential condominium units with associated amenities in one high-rise structure. The proposed project would include a residential tower, consisting of approximately 581,000 square feet of Floor Area1 and up to 50,000 square feet of Floor Area of various amenities described below. The building would be 40 stories, and would extend approximately 480 feet in height plus approximately 17 feet of mechanical equipment covering a small area on the rooftop, which would be screened from distant views. This single structure would be oval in shape and would be sited at a diagonal, extending towards the western and eastern corners of the 3.8-acre project site. The condominium units would range in size from approximately 2,200 square feet to approximately 6,000 square feet (excluding the penthouse unit(s)). The 147 condominium units would include 60 twobedroom units, 76 three-bedroom units, and 11 four-bedroom units.

The proposed project would include various luxury resident-only amenities, such as a business center, screening room, gym, concierge services, valet parking, outdoor swimming pool, spa and deck, and a private garden with sitting areas and walking paths. The proposed project’s onsite open space and recreational areas would exceed Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC) requirements and would provide for a park-like setting for residents.

this is the only project i've heard about taking place in century city besides the 2000 avenue of the stars. when is it proposed to break ground and also be finished?

That building would sure make an impact on the west LA skyline[s]. But theere is already 2 47 story towers already proposed, is there enough demand in CC for this huge tower too?

^^ i don't know if anyone remembers, but the tall one on the far right is the one in the movie die hard. bruce willis is stuck on top of it. mostly i remember century city because of the view from the getty center museum (great view by the way in all directions from that museum). wish i knew how to post a personal pic of it

I had now idea there were still vacant spots in CC to develop? Does any have a list of all the proposed developments in CC? Are they replacing old buldins or vacanst lots?

I believe that building will be the former St. REgis Hotel. I work in Century City and see that building everyday, and it currently is completely covered in scaffolding. As for future developments in the area, an old fox building was torn down on Santa Monica Blvd. and something new is going up there. Also, behind the century club, theres a giant hole in the ground. Its pretty well hidden if you are driving or walking by, but I was bored on my lunch one day and went snooping around. I guess that area used to be the ABC entertainment complex with a theather for musicals and the like. It was shut down apparently and all thats left is a hole in the ground, im sure this is visible on google earth.

The St. Regis hotel that is on the site of the new condo tower is currently being destroyed and i am not happy with this because the 30-story tower is only 21 years old.

Will the condo tower be a great addition to Century City or is it going to ruin the skyline because a hotel tower used to be there?

Sometimes these things drive me crazy. With that tower and the new one CC would look awsome. I just dont get it sometimes.

never know... might have been an asbestos problem (that levels a building quick). they don't have to be that old either to have the problem. shame though anyway.

The Century is now under construction, though there has got to be a specific reason why St. Regis Hotel was destroyed young. It did not live a full life.

They're putting in condominiums in CC, but that area needs better transit and more walkability more than anything else. Why not make this mixed-use so people can get out of their cars a bit? Or are people on the Westside really excited about horrible traffic 12 hours a day?

Indeed, Fox plaza. In the movie it's known as "Nakatome Plaza", possibly reflecting the fact that many downtown and century city buildings were owned by the Japanese in the 1980s.

^ Unfortunately it did not make the cut for CC.

^ What do you mean 'did not make the cut'? The hotel's early death was probably because of an asbestos problem.

^ Basically it wasn't At CC standards (Eye Soar)... so they had to cut out of the skyline!
