A new commercial development at the location where previously occupied by F&N factory and warehouse. The name for the project Zon.2@Fraser-Biz-Park.

here is their official website: http://www.fnproperties.com.my

I just came back from their sales launch at JW Marriott Hotel, Grand Ballroom Foyer, Lower Level 3. The sales launch started today from 10a.m until 9pm for 3 days ( 2/9 - 4/9)

Too bad! :(

There's absolutely nothing that says "Malaysia" about this building. Nothing gives even the slightest hint that would say "Southeast Asia," or even "Asia." Unfortunately this project has the bland, boring, boxy, noncommittal "international" appearance that can be found all over the world. I find this truly tragic.

I suspect the old F&N factory and its warehouse are being sacrificed for this project. What a pity! Buildings in the international style tend to lack character, charm, and atmosphere, and this development is no exception.

Blurangel, please forgive me. I truly don't want to put you off. On the contrary! I welcome you warmly to the Malaysian forum of SCity and send you greetings. It's just that I love Malaysia and don't want it (or even parts of it) to look as though it could be just about anywhere. I hope you understand.

No problem, SEAfan, because I found that the builder design is borign as well..... in fact, many of the new commercial project which is going to launch will go towards this trend of architectural design.

The existing 4-storey shop offcie which is 95% completed is 100% sold. It is belongs to another developer. Strange but true, within the same development, the land actually owned by 2 different developer.

Thanks, blurangel! I'm greatly relieved. :)

And let's hope that VERY few (well, preferably none of course) buildings featuring this bland, nondescript style of architecture will arise ANYWHERE in Malaysia!

I was just wondering, can we start a thread for the commercial project in Klang Valley? It will make it more interesting if someone where interested to post or discuss commercial project in Klang Valley, or probably commercial project in Malaysia.

Any comment?

^^ glad we agree on that little horror, Zahir!

@blurangel: sounds like a good idea for a thread! :okay: But don't look to me for opening it -- a local forumer would have to do that, or at least someone with more knowledge of the situation than I. You see, I'm merely a benevolent long distance admirer of Malaysia. :lovethem:
