7 World Trade June 23rd, 2004, 03:07 AM this building's got a really cool appeal to it. and for an old building it sure looks abstract (what's the chance of finding abstract architecture in skyscrapers that old?)
sux that it was never nyc's tallest. too bad they never tried to beat park row building.
9.5
hella good June 23rd, 2004, 11:50 AM The flatiron is one of new yorks treasures, it is one of the most popular posters in the world.
rayman July 3rd, 2004, 08:37 AM isn't that the building where chucky killed a babysitter with a hammer and she fell out of the window?? (child's play movie)
Flatiron July 13th, 2004, 06:22 AM My fav. (Could you guess?)
10/10
Flatiron July 13th, 2004, 06:23 AM Chucky threw the babysitter out the window of the fabulous Brewster Apartment House in Chicago. It's a Romanesque classic with a famous "birdcage" interior. Not as tall as the Flatiron, but I think about 15 years older (?)
Menino de Sampa July 13th, 2004, 05:19 PM 10/10. Beautiful!
flex July 25th, 2004, 01:17 AM 9,5/10 there is a tower u.c. in eindhoven (The Netherlands) that really looks like the flatorion, they should build more towers like this: http://www.centrumprojecten.eindhoven.nl/smalle_haven/images/content/toren_sh.jpg

Jan Del Castillo August 17th, 2009, 05:08 AM 10. Excellent building. Regards.
waccamatt August 17th, 2009, 05:12 AM I give the Flatiron a 9.5. My grandmother used to tell me how she remembered the construction of the Flatiron and how everyone in NYC was fascinated by the building. She was only about 10 years old when the building opened so I imagine she must have lived nearby. I used to ask her to show me where she grew up, but her house had been torn down. I wish I had asked more questions.

DFDalton August 3rd, 2010, 05:12 AM There aren't very many Burnham buildings left. Certainly not in NYC. It's rare - there aren't very many old "Chicago school" skyscrapers in New York City. It's certainly iconic. And it's one of the oldest existing skyscrapers in the world. It's also reasonably attractive.
