Den kommer att bli en av Norrlands mest spektakulära byggnader.

Det handlar om en 40 våningar hög skyskrapa med hotell och lägenheter som kommer att sträcka sig en bra bit över 100 meter upp i luften när den är klar.

LT avslöjade redan i april att det fanns planer på att Fältjägaren Fastigheter skulle bygga en sensationell profilbyggnad i anslutning till kaserngården på I5.

Nu kan LT presentera de första skisserna på ett byggprojekt som, om det blir verklighet, blir ett blickfång i klass med Turning Torso i Malmö.

- Det finns de som försöker dra paralleller med Turning Torso, som visserligen är en ståtlig byggnad, men den är bara byggd för bostäder, säger Daniel Kindberg, vd på Fältjägaren Fastigheter AB.

Nyréns Arkitektkontor har tillsammans med Fältjägaren tagit fram en modell av en skyskrapa som ska placeras i den norra delen av kaserngården.

Den ska bli 40 våningar hög och inrymma mycket mer än bara bostäder.

- Här ska vi kombinera kommersiella ytor med konsthall, hotell och boende, säger Daniel Kindberg.

"Byggnadens karaktär ska kännas öppen och inbjudande, smälta in i området men samtidigt ges en egen profil som syns från alla delar av staden", står det i idéskissen som offentliggjordes i lördags.

Så här är det tänkt:

K Skyskrapan i 40 våningar inrymmer bostäder, kontor och hotell.

K På byggnadens gröna tak finns plats för samvaro och olika aktiviteter i glasade rum, som t ex restaurang och kafé.

K Den lägre delen av byggnaden inrymmer i tre plan utställningshallar, konferens, konsertsal, restaurang med mera.

K Från entréplanet tar man sig ner genom ett brett kommunikationsstråk till en stor hall under kaserngården.

K Hallen har generösa mått och kan vara sammanhängande eller delas av i mindre rum och kan utnyttjas till olika ändamål som kräver stora ytor, exempelvis mässor.

K På kaserngården är flera större glaslanterniner (transparenta glaskupoler) placerade som ger ett generöst dagsljus ner till den undre hallen.

K En parkering planeras under den lägre trevåningsbyggnaden.

K Exercisplatsen behåller i stort sin grusade markbeläggning och platsen kan utnyttjas som evenemangsplats i anslutning till kulturaktiviteter i höghuset.

Som kuriosa kan nämnas att när Turning Torso i april 2004 hade nått 40 våningar, var den 133 meter hög. Den är nu klar och är 190 meter hög med sammanlagt 54 våningar.

Kaknästornet i Stockholm är 155 meter hög och Globen mäter 85 meter från botten till toppen.

Östersund = a city in Jämtland

Öresund = the bay Malmö is situated in.

The design? Looks nice, will wait with opinions until more renders are released. And yes, 40 floors with residential should be about 130-140 m. So good news indeed! If it will be built? Well, I'm not too sure but I would really love to see it rise. I guess I have to visit Östersund a bit more often in the future ;)

Östersund is a town i norrland, your thinking of öresund. I wouldnt mind have it built in Malmö instead of östersund though.

This is so great. If the city is serious about increasing its population then they should do everything to make sure crazy landmark constructions like this or 'Björntanden' goes ahead.

It's very unlikely to be built though, at least not as grand as this, but I'm glad enough the idea is being drafted.

It seems that the effects of the spindleprick weren't that long-lived, thus not so heavy.
