Saigon's skyline is starting to form now. Will be great in 5-10 years time.

I have a Question.. w/c is more vibrant, Saigon or Hanoi?

There's no way Hanoi can compare to Saigon. Even the elite Hanoians themselves fly to the south everynight to go clubbing and having fun.

So Hanoi has just the title "capital", but unlike most of the capitals in this globe, it doesnt dominate in Vientam at all?

Anyway, i really like how the buildings in the first pic are lit.

Saigon!!! More people so more demand!!! ...more clubs, more movie theaters, bigger waterpark, more brands, .... many youth from the north prefere Saigon more in this way!...but we shouldn't unterrated Hanoi that so much...
btw, did you guys know that Hai Phong has a very rich elite??? ...I met a lot people from Hai Phong who are doing business in China and now are millionaires! I think that people from Hai Phong want to enjoy a lot of fun more than Hanoians....Saigon for spending money, Central for relaxing and Hanoi for eating!!! :scouserd: what for a perfect day!

Vietnam is the same as anywhere........when people think of fun they think of New York, LA, they don't think of Washington DC the capital.....same as Hong Kong or Shanghai verses the capital Beijing........Toronto instead of Ottawa, or Mumbai instead of New Delhi.
only few countries have the capital as the biggest city: bangkok, Manila, Tokyo, London, Paris.

I don't think it's good when you have everything concentrated in 1 place, politic,cultural, economy shouldn't mix

Hanoi was the capital for almost 1000yrs (1000 in 2010) but the economy didn't thrive until the Nguyen dynasty moved the capital to Hue.
know why? when all the "kings" and "queens" were in Hanoi, they casted higher taxes for Hanoians, they restricted the kind of clothes people wore and the type of houses they built.....so no one allowed to build 2 storeys building or anything higher than the imperial palace......so stupid.

Korea soon will move the entire adminstrative center to another smaller city out and away from seoul....that's smart.

Tq....I think saigon is the place to eat not hanoi :) with 1 mill northerners migrated to the south in 54...and people from central VN came to seek refuge in saigon.......we have every flavour in the south.
plus...... di an o saigon khong bi chui hehe.

hanoi is so cool, i feel bad for all those people who destroyed the image of good old hanoi

hanoi is soo beautiful and picturesque with all the low trees and lakes, hanoi has soo much history to it

saigon is really fun and chaotic, a party city, or shopping(i guess)

hanoi,along w Hue,is a ideal place for poets,but a boring place for entertainment (no water park,less clubs & pubs & shoppin' center,less comfortable,less open-minded ppl,'di an bi chui',..) but i think hanoi has a better environment than saigon (less pollution)
