In addition to Hong Kong Wharf's tower recently started (339m, 83 floors, SOM), Wuxi might get more supertall projects soon.

Suning Real Estate is planning a major twin project in Wuxi, it might reach 300m. No images.

Also, it was announced that the North Railway Station CBD is planning a 89fl twin project, which should be far above 300m. No images.

Politec is planning another of its monster projects in Wuxi, it might contain 1x300m and 15x40-55 fl :O No images.

The last one is Jinkui (I don't know how translate "金匮") Plaza, 1x70fl, 1x45fl, another proposal which might reach 300m.
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r5/z0rgg/WuxiJinkuiPlaza7045.jpg

So, being very optimistic, Wuxi might be planning 7 supertalls :D

Another amazing project is Wuxi First International Plaza, 9x50-55fl residentials.

New supertall approved in Wuxi, 328m, 74 floors

Jesus, what does such a small city (in Chinese scope) want with all these buildings??

^^ Why not, dude? They are being built by private companies, I don't think they want to waste their money for nothing. If a middle sized city builds 50 office buildings around 8 floors nobody cares, but when they build 8 towers around 50 floors everybody goes crazy :(

They added the Poly Plaza to Wuxi diagram at ss.cn, supposed to be 298m, 70 floors, but I couldn't find any info about it :S I can remember that they talked about a huge project in Wuxi by Politec Group composed by many residential towers above 40 floors and one main tower above 250m though.

They said they are about to launch the final version of Jinkui Plaza. They chose this design, but it will have "more floors". Above 300m for sure. This one would be Wuxi's third approved supertall.

Is this underground heavy-rail subway or is it a light rail network?

Hang Lung Properties Buys Site In Wuxi City For CNY415 Mln
15 May 2009

HONG KONG (Dow Jones)--Hang Lung Properties Ltd. (0101.HK) said Friday it acquired a site in China's Wuxi, Jiangsu province, for CNY415 million (US$61.03 million).

Hang Lung Properties said in a statement the 16,700-square-meter site is adjacent to a property it is already developing, Wuxi Hang Lung Plaza, and will be another phase of that development.

The blue-chip company said last week it will spend about CNY4.5 billion developing a newly bought site in China's Dalian, Lioaning province, into a shopping mall.

Hang Lung has acquired prime sites in Tianjin; Shenyang, Liaoning province; Wuxi; and Jinan, Shandong province. The firm also has commercial projects in Shanghai.

^^ So the rumor could be true after all. They said there is a 300-400m tower under planning next to the 220m~ twins they are starting.
