Cinema Azadi in Tehran was destroyed by a fire 9 years ago. Reconstruction of it have now started and will be finished in early 2007


ساختمان سینما آزادی در 29 فروردین 1376 بر اثر یک سانحه آتش گرفت . این دو سالن سینمایی در 1000 متر مربع واقع شده بود که پس از آتش سوزی بالافاصله تخریب شد . بعد از مدتی با همکاری شهرداری و کمیسیون مالی و حوزه هنری ضوابط مربوط به ساخت و ساز شروع شد . با رایزنی هایی که صورت گرفته بود شهردار قالیباف در افتتاحیه بیست و چهرمین جشنواره فیلم فجر قول ساخت این سینما را در سال جدید داد. در 22 بهمن 1386 این مجموعه هنری تحویل به اهالی سینما می شود

Was that last set of photos taken in April this year? Thought they said it's supposed to be done by early 2007? What's the new deadline?

I really like the design. Tehran's new mayor looks much better than the old one too ;)

I know why it went fire just to let some of u know, i was in tehran at the time, and the cinema was showing the film called "leyli ba man ast" meaninh Leyli is with me

the film was a about man who worked as a journalist and was send to the frontline (as in war in 1980-1988) , and he was a bit coward, lol, which made it prety funny, but a the time the revolutionary guard got peed off and set it on fire:bash::bash::bash:

Azadi, Farhang, Pardis in Parke Melat, Bowling Abdo Cinema are the nicest Tehran cinemas
But Pardis and Azadi are the newest and most modern ones
