Mövenpick to open hotel in Kuwait

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts will soon open an exclusive 308-room Mövenpick Resort & Residence Al Bidaa, Kuwait.

A management agreement to this effect has just been signed with the owning company Alargan International Real Estate Co. The move is part of the Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts' strategic growth plans in the Middle East and signals their strong commitment to developing tourism in Kuwait, said a spokesman.

'Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts enjoys an excellent reputation in the Gulf region,' said says chairman and managing director of Alargan International Real Estate Co Khaled Al Mashaan.

'We look forward to working together with the Swiss hotel group and are confident that Mövenpick's successful philosophy can be readily implemented at the Mövenpick Resort & Residence Al Bidaa Kuwait.'

Scheduled to open at the end of the year the five-star hotel is located just 15 minutes from Kuwait International Airport in the city's prestigious Salmiah area. It covers a total area of some 40,000 sq mts with 308 rooms and suites including a presidential suite and 14 family villas.

The hotel's particular strength will be the residence part of the complex which houses an extensive choice of studios, two-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments designed to attract the long stay guests and serve as weekend retreat for the domestic market.

'The new hotel will allow us to offer our guests in Kuwait, both business travelers and holidaymakers, a comprehensive range of products and services,' said senior vice-president Middle East Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts Andreas Mattmüller.

'Kuwait represents a key destination in terms of the expansion of our brand in the Gulf region and we are proud that our presence in the country will soon be expanded to two establishments.'

With a wide range of leisure activities including six outdoor and one indoor swimming pool, three squash courts and a Kids' Club the Mövenpick Resort & Residence Al Bidaa Kuwait is ideally suited to families.

The resort also boasts its own extensive private beach and a luxurious spa, health and fitness centre, spanning over 900 sq mts, is also planned. Conference and banqueting facilities include three flexible meeting rooms for up to 100 persons, a sub-divisible ballroom that will accommodate up to 400 persons as well as a business centre to cater the needs of the corporate traveller.

Movenpick to open second resort in Kuwait
22-10-2006

The opening of its second property in Kuwait was recently announced by Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts as part of the company’s regional expansion program.

Under a management agreement recently signed between owning company Alargan International Real Estate Co., an exclusive 308 room Mövenpick Resort and Residence will be established at Al Bidaa Kuwait, 15 minutes from Kuwait International Airport in the city's Salmiah area.

"Mövenpick Hotels and Resorts enjoys an excellent reputation in the Gulf region," said Khaled Al Mashaan, Chairman and Managing Director of Alargan International Real Estate Co., according to Khaleej Times.

Opening of the Mövenpick Resort & Residence Al Bida'a in Kuwait
1st Jun 2007

In line with its strategic growth plans the Swiss international hotel chain is consolidating its presence in the Middle East and has just opened a second hotel in Kuwait. With 306 stylish rooms, first-class service, culinary expertise, a comprehensive leisure offer and the ideal conditions for holidaymakers and business travelers, the exclusive Mövenpick Resort & Residence Al Bida'a is setting new standards in Kuwait's hotel landscape.

The hotel is located in a prime location in the prestigious Salmiya quarter, only 15 minutes from Kuwait International Airport.

Constructed as a contemporary low-rise building covering a total surface area of 40,000 sqm, it features delightful architectural elements and colours inspired by the Mediterranean island of Sardinia.

A particular strength of the 306 room complex is the residential part with its studios, two and three-bedroom apartments, villas and a Royal Suite, designed specifically to attract long stay guests and to serve as weekend retreat for the domestic market.

In the main restaurant guests enjoy a variety of trademark Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts buffets with international delicacies. The specialty restaurant "Beldani" offers a selection of freshly caught fish and seafood. Drinks and snacks are served throughout the day in the "Veranda" Lobby Lounge as well as the Pool Bar, and room service is also available 24 hours a day.

With a wide range of leisure activities including five outdoor swimming pools, three squash courts and a Kids' Club, the Mövenpick Resort & Residence Al Bida'a is ideally suited to families. The resort also boasts a 200 m private beach as well as its own luxurious spa, health and fitness center (spa area due to open later this year).

For conferences and banquets the resort also boasts three flexible meeting rooms for up to 100 persons, a sub-divisible ballroom for 300 guests, and a business centre to cater the needs of the corporate traveler.
