As from next month there will be only 3 -150m towers uc in Australia.
Gold coast 220m ConCnrth which is nearing compeltion, 160m skyline in brisbane and 150m Aspect in syd.
I think Australia is at its lowest point with 150m+ towers uc.hopefully some of these planned projects in each city will actually eventuate over next couple of years??

ADELAIDE
summary
well looks like Adelaides latest skyscraper-santos HQ has topped out and along with ANZ will bow out next months diagrams.hopefully some new 60m+ projects will start soon.

SYDNEY
summary
This month sees the topping off Sydney's latest 500footers. Lumiere and Meriton tower are now structurally complete and will be removed next months diagram. Then its looking pretty sad with only Aspect and Mosaic being built in CBD (over 60m). there are nearly 10 bldgs between 50m-60m uc).
Lots happening outside of CBD.
Sydney is coming off its 2001-2006 boom, so may have to wait 2007/8 for the next wave of towers which im sure will have some stunning projects.

Soul seems to be taking a while to get going on the GC.
Skyline in Brisbane is going up really fast.
I will be very keen to see the difference in Darwin when it's talls start to emerge.

Enjoy your holiday Cul

^^ Agree!

Well we won't be seeing ANZ's new headquaters in the diagrams because what is going to be Australia's largest office building will be 1 big fat low rise campus! Dam it!!

You somehow forgot about Escen Tower, Parramatta? I'll stick some pics.

^i removed Escen months ago beacuse it topped out.silly billy.

the new ANZ head campus would be included if it was over 60m tall. but at 40m its a shorty.sydney has 10 uc that are over 50m but under 60m so i had to cut off somewhere.

^^ I understand there is a cut off otherwise we would have to scroll 20 meters or so accross our computer screens to see all the diagrams. I just wish ANZ was a tall skyscraper so it could be in the diagram.

Perth ATM is less like the 80's/90's and more like the 60's/70's boom we had, only resi version. and lets all pray together city square and emu brewrey get up.

Does anyone know if there are height restrictions in our cities as to limits for building constructions? As in a tower cannot exceed a certain height. I know in the US in some cities they have restrictions.

all aussie cities have restrictions. In most it is 300m RL. I think this applies for Mel,bris, perth while sydneys is 235m above ground. Adelaides is a measly 115m above ground, however could change in the future i believe. Hobart and Canberra are both around the 60m mark, with a few execptions here and there. Darwin however goes to 120m RL. Evolution currently u/c meets this height as it is 99m above ground however built 21m above sea level.

hope thats helped.

^^ Adelaide's is "subject to merit" but CASA seem to like to block 110m buildings even when they're next to existing 135m buildings.

I think the large number of mid-rise developments in Perth is a great thing. Perth has plenty of height but no density so I am quite happy with the direction the market is taking. There is still 140 william street to come, no design released yet but they already have a pre-committment from the government for most of the office space so it will definately go ahead.
I only hope that when they run out of space for mid-rise towers they start going high again!

Yeah true, but it makes you think it is slow. :)
