It's amazing to see just how many English words you can read in just about every language imaginable . Be it the media , business , T.V etc......
I often read newspapers and magazines from Spain to try to improve my Espanyol . And it's just amazing to see the amount of English words involved in all of the publications that are suppose to be of Spanish origin.
Esta muy '' fashion '' , se a ido '' shopping '' . Even on just about every forumer on this such forum . Their names tend to be more English then anything else . Is this suppose to be cool ? As in my view they sound rather ridiculous . It's as if they are ashamed of their own language . How coooooooooooooooooooooooooool .

I guess this comes from the fact that this is an english speaking forum?
youll speak english so there are many forumers who give themselves an english nickname.
If you'd go (for example) to one of the german architecture forums however youll see that most names are german.

There's already serius talks in Denmark about making English the second offecial language.. ( with bi lingual signs, goverment documents and that kind ) and while that wont happen for a few years at the very least there's no stopping it in the end, as it does make a lot of sense, especially for small countries like my own 100% dependant on foreign workers...

Ofcause at the time our high wages are doing it for us.. plus we already learn english in 3rd grade... but in the long run that's not enough...

Will English ever replace Danish? Nah... well ofcause, but not in my life or any time soon.... we'll get a Hong Kong style system...

The most convincing reason English became the world common language is that the Anglosaxons got North America and founded the US there. The Anglosaxons made two superpowers, the British Empire and the US. The US is the only superpower now but London is still the second world city. The Anglosaxons and English keep dominating the world.
