Hello, these are the pics i took on my trip to Paris. I traveled from Waterloo to Gare de Nord on Eurostar - which wasnt as exciting or plush as i thought. Anyway the weather wasnt particularly good but most majour tourist site were free as it was heritage weekend (an excellent idea!). (please excuse my French)
Well traveling down from an area called Republique to the Bastile - which was a roundabout with a statue where once a castle/ prison once stood, but a good place to start
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/05.jpg
and then on to the city hall - or Hotel de Ville which had a huge que outside it and was a very nice place to sit and enjoy an apple for breakfast with the fountains
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/07.jpg
just across the bridge....
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/010.jpg
....brings us to Notre Dame
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/011.jpg
its very dark inside, but felt very holy to me
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/013.jpg
and then a trip to the top via a que and 5 minutes waiting in a shop half way one of the towers
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/024.jpg
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/028.jpg
i like this pick, the roofs look like its been snowing and the trees are a very pretty colour
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/032.jpg
when this pick was taken a band was playing "the lion sleeps tonight" and all the bells were going
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/039.jpg
and this was my next destination, the Pantheon
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/041.jpg
via a good view
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/044.jpg
reminds me of St Pauls in London from this angle although it was a very plain building, just a wall of stone greeted us at the end of the street (but i suppose this isnt the main route
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/045.jpg
it was very pretty inside but had been attacked by an artist - well i say artist!
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/047.jpg
i think it was cotton with polystyrene balls inside
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/046.jpg
then a trip up the dome
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/052.jpg

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/060.jpg
notice the burger place pointed out after the pic was taken
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/061.jpg
heading back towards the island Notre Dame is on we saw a que and joined it - leeding us to the Conciergerie, which gave us acess to one room only. Very pretty but for a normal price of 5 euros a rip off.
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/064.jpg
a better view of the building - apparently Marie Antoinette was interred here
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/066.jpg
looking back towards Notre Dame
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/065.jpg

in the same park apparently this is the Stock exchange - which we qued for only a bit but decided against it
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/068.jpg

a view to the river
http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/susananstiss/072.jpg
