Please post your comments about the airport!!!!

What do you think about it?
Would you change something?
Do you think is a good candidate for best airport in Europe or in the world?
How long would you think Barajas will take to reach 70 million passengers a year?

I've been on it five times since it was opened, and once before it was opened, and each time i go i'm more amazed about it, is huge but the sensation is not cold and distant, the spaces are well distributed all services, shops, the People mover, everything is great, i think now we have one of the best terminal buildings in Europe and maybe in the whole world...

Best Public Space 2006
Madrid Barajas International Airport
By Richard Rogers Partnership

In this dramatic new airport terminal, the ceiling—rolling sine waves of bamboo-clad steel—is held up by brightly painted columns, and there's sunlight everywhere. Rogers's design is "reminiscent of a sailboat or a classic ship," the jury remarked. "There's a lightness to it—a buoyancy." From arrival halls to check-in, from security to departure, spaces are clearly organized and easy to navigate, unified by the soaring central corridor.

The building presents a straightforward linear diagram, in the form of a clear sequence of spectacular spaces for both departing and arriving passengers. The parallel linear floor planes are separated from each other by dramatic, light-filled canyons across which bridges span.

A restrained and functional approach is consistently applied to great effect, resulting in a visually clean, remarkably uncluttered and soothing environment.

Architecturally by far my most favorite airport terminals today, anywhere.

The only challenges tha are left are operational.

From a frequent flyer point of view connecting distances can be great. There the connecting subway and then 4 levels of escalators then maybe more moving sidewalks...

The luggage handling system/process needs to be improved because the last two times I was there, in October 2006, it took more than 45 for the luggage to show up way at the other end of the airport.

I am sure these issues can be resolved but it will challenge the logistical intellingence of the airport authority to significanly improve the processing of lugagge and passagers with connections in such large terminal complex.

It looks absolutely AMAZING.

Of all the airports I've been to (which isn't actually that many) it has to be the BEST!!!

Only Hong Kong International comes close.....

Sydney Airport SUCKS - the worst I've been to - so much contrast...
