Hello Northeasterners

I posted this over at SSP, but I want to input here as well.

I will be visiting NYC from Sunday October 22 - 28. I really would like to visit either Philly, Boston, or Providence for one day. Since Philly is the closest city to New York its the one I'm leaning towards.

Now my question is which one has cheap bus service, or it there commuter rail that link any of these cities?

I heard there is a chinese bus that goes to Boston for 10, 15, or perhaps 20 dollars round trip. Is that true?

I'm asking for any advice on the best and cheapest way to visit for a day trip, of it I have to get a place for one night and go back to NYC the next day.

Also if anyone willing to meet up in NYC or the other city I end up choosing to visit for one day let me know or PM me.
Even though I've been to NYC many times its always nice to get a tour from a local view point. If you're pressed for time we could even just meet for coffee, beer, or even a quick lunch.

Boston is 3 hours from New York .. it'll be hard to do a day trip.

Philadelphia is the most do-able - only 90 minutes each way.

yeah Hk is right, you could go to Boston but the trip would be longer and you have to include some variables that will make the trip longer (like traffic, or rush hour traffic depending on the time that you visit/leave)

if you want to go to Boston then just take the Fungwah bus

but you have a good variety of buses to take when going to philly
