On the architect website ,it's one of his latest projects along with park clemenceau, which is currently U/C as it was mentioned in almustaqbal newspaper months ago.

U can see it's really taller than the atmium tower :) let's say by 50 meters,so i guess the ICON TOWER will be 160 meters high the spire will give him another 20-30 meters so,it'll be around 170-180 meters high.and taking in consideration the area of ashrafieh"HILLS"so other pple from beirut will think it's more than 200 meters high :)

Ahhh that's great to see Achrafiyeh getting highrises, it's like we have 2 skylines one in Beirut Marina and one in Achrafiyeh :) and hopefully they will build highrises in the south :):) that would be awesome, it will be like tri-skylines hehe

Hassoun
October 11th, 2006, 06:15 AM
yes,but in the south near the airport,so this is unlickely to happen :)

Nadini
October 11th, 2006, 06:27 AM
You never know hehe, the airport is jutted out to the sea, so they can build as high they want on the left side of the airport :) After all the buildings over there were kinda high, they were just old or not modern looking that's why no one was attracted to them.

Hey, guys dont forget the western Beirut skyline, with the Bahri Gardens, Heliopolitan, Crowne Plaza, and other highrises... there already are 3 skylines...

Beiruti
January 4th, 2007, 02:43 AM
Well the first three floors have very high ceilings... we shouldn't measure by floors but rather by meters (sorry though I dont have the exact number).

Hassoun
January 4th, 2007, 02:49 AM
Oh,i guess u r right...
with the spire i guess it's about 150 meters, koz the atmium is about 110 meters.

It's perfect as we need more buildings with glass facades (well partially here) in Beirut.. Nabil Gholam designed Platinum Tower as well.. I like his style.

so is this building being built in the middle of the block? as in in the space left between the other low-rises? so its gonna be surrounded by the lower blocks for the first 10 floors or so? if so, thats pretty good...i think

But on this website the project is listed as "Park Hills Residence"

Interesting that most of the projects they manage are ON HOLD!

^^ maybe they're affected by the financial crisis

Beiruti

^^ I dont think that's the case. Lebanon in general is in good shape. The projects I am refering to have been on hold for years now. At least Landmark was recently re-started.
