Apprentice renewed for a sixth season, which will be filmed in LA

NBC has ordered a sixth season of The Apprentice, and for that season, the show will leave New York and be filmed in LA, or more broadly, “Southern California,” according to NBC. The fourth season is wrapping up now, while the fifth season was produced this fall and will air sometime next year.

The Apprentice 6 will have “new challenges, twists and surprises — [and] also will feature tasks indigenous to and emblematic of the new locale,” NBC said in a press release. There’s no scheduled air date yet.

In a statement, producer Mark Burnett said, “Donald has so many recent West Coast projects, that it made perfect sense to change locations and along with it change the flavor of the weekly tasks. Seeing Donald operate in Southern California will provide yet more insight into his remarkable world.”

I love "The Apprentice" and watch every episode of every season; taping, tivoing and calling in sick to work to see the finale. What bothers me is that it will be filmed in "southern california", once again LA is pictured as a huge blob that stretches on for miles and miles from the IE to the OC. I just hope that the show is filmed in its majority within the city of LA as it is likewise filmed primarily within NYC with modest ventures into the outlying area.

I hate how they refer to it as Hollywood or Southern California. Why can't they just refer to it as Los Angeles??? Looking forward to seeing where the contestants live. Trump will obviously be staying in Palos Verdes.

hmmm... i wonder if people (non-angelinos or non-californians) take interest more in the names hollywood or california as opposed to los angeles.

i too hate this unreal, irresponsible error. they do the same thing on dr 90210 using beverly hills or california instead of los angeles

For example, the season finale of season 5 was shot at the Orpheum Theater in Downtown Los Angeles. But they labeled it as "Hollywood, California". But Donald Trump DID proceed to announce that they were "live from Los Angeles" and that the next season was going to be filmed in "La-La Land".

The next season too??? You've gotta be kidding!!

But it's also our fault for not educating the masses to where and where Los Angeles ends and begins. Though I am acknowledging that within its DNA Los Angeles is the whole county, I mean the old LRT/streetcar system didn't just service the city and that was like 100 years ago. But at this time, I think it is now appropriate to highlight a massive population of 4+ strong as "the center", "the city". Again:

I would love to see the Apprentice filmed along Wilshire, from SM to CC and dt.
