Sort of like Phoenix, Edmonton, or Denver I suppose. Anyway, love the building, and Calgary looks amazing! isaidso January 23rd, 2012, 02:03 PM Southern Alberta is a weird place for a major city? No more so than Texas. :| Bruce.Tenmile January 23rd, 2012, 02:14 PM Call me crazy, but in the most general sense, it's weird that Calgary can get skyscrapers like this, looking at a map it's such an inconspicuous place, it looks to be in the middle of nowhere. It is in the middle of nowhere, but it's a pretty big city. royal rose1 January 23rd, 2012, 02:21 PM Southern Alberta is a weird place for a major city? No more so than Texas. :| haha no, not Southern Alberta in general. It's just that it's so far inland, and not near any major bodies of water, that I wouldn't expect cities to be there ya know? For instance, NYC has a perfect location, seeing a map pre-development I would say "let's put a city there." But Calgary and Edmonton are so awkwardly located haha, they look to be located in prairies, similar to the cities of South and North Dakota, except the cities in Alberta are much bigger haha. As I mentioned, Denver and Phoenix are in the same boat! haha I'm just speaking about cities in general, that are not near big bodies of water, and are more or less in flat land that isn't unique. I actually visited Sacramento over the summer, and felt the exact same about it, except it lies on a big river, so it has a little bit of a reason to be there. royal rose1 January 23rd, 2012, 02:25 PM And just to be clear, I do realize that Edmonton and Calgary both lie on rivers haha. camilo91 January 24th, 2012, 12:56 AM that building, is so fantastic and is the perfect complement to the calgarian skyline.. :D isaidso January 24th, 2012, 05:46 AM I'm hoping that the Bow is just the first of many tall striking skyscrapers for Calgary. Perhaps another 4-5 200m+ buildings and a super tall before the decade is out? :colgate: Bruce.Tenmile January 24th, 2012, 03:22 PM ^^That'd be awesome, but I wouldn't get your hopes up. fozzy January 24th, 2012, 03:28 PM WOW what a fantastic tower!!! it's amazing how small the calgary tower looks now :D CharlotteJ January 24th, 2012, 05:39 PM I'm hoping that the Bow is just the first of many tall striking skyscrapers for Calgary.
