I just can't believe it

-----------------------------------

South African singer Lebo Mathosa died in an accident east of Johannesburg in the early hours on Monday, her manager Linzy Cowley said.

"Unfortunately, Lebo was killed in a car accident in the early hours of this morning," she told Sapa.

"We send our condolences to her family and friends."

Mathosa's driver apparently lost control of the Toyota Prado they were travelling in on the N3 highway on the East Rand.

The vehicle overturned between the Heidelberg Road off-ramp Grey Avenue in Germiston, Ekurhuleni metro police Kobeli Mokheseng said.

The cause of the accident was unknown. A case of culpable homicide was being investigated.

The rhythm and blues and Kwaito singer died at the scene. The driver suffered minor injuries, and was treated for shock.

Cowley said she would meet the Mathosa family on Monday and a statement would be issued later.

Mathosa shot to fame in 1994 as a member of kwaito group Boom Shaka. She released her first solo album in 2000. - Sapa

She was one of the best talents to come out of SA in the last 10 years. What terrible news to come back to. I am very, very sad. I loved, loved, loved her voice and music. Long live Lebo. Double blow, coming on the death of the talented TK.

She was launching the Lion Kind in June 2007 in conjunction with Pieter Toerien.. now it'll only be Pieter Toerien.. I'm sure she would have loved to have seen her production open.

Why do the famous South Africans seem to keep dying in unnecessary accidents? :( This is horrible news!

My favourite song of hers is "I love Music". What a voice and what a song. Smooth, classy, and catchy. Can't stop humming it now.

At this site below you'll find samples of her music.

You **definitely** have heard this amazing voice. Another famous song is "Brand New Day", which had been receiving a lot of air time in the last few months.
