Just thought I'd let you know... Jan finally got back to me (he's been busy) and it looks like November 4 is the date we will see the Joburg Banner up top.

what is the pic?

I think is should be combination of pics, night and day, CBD + Sandton and the rainbow nation.

I think we have to put pics here and let fellow forumers to decide on which one to be used as a banner.

Ya hows about this time we see the correct pic thats going to be up, instead of it just being posted & we all thinking its a completly different pic.

wow I love the second one that greg did. but cant we have a more up to date pic of the sandton skyline? it seems a shame to use such an old one when sandton is looking so darn good now.

ya a couldn't u add some of the awesome pics from the cbd like a shot of newtown with the diamond building in the backround .....i also dont like the pic of the sandton cbd maybe something with the mic tower in it

If someone posts a suitable pic I'll gladly substitute that Sandton one. But isn't it going up tomorrow?!

I'm waiting for a response on that... I'm asking Jan if he'll put it up tomorrow or sometime soon instead... maybe he just had a little typo when he told me the 4th.

No for Oct they ran all of September's banner's again! hence Durbs had a second viewing, so Joburgs banner will prob be up on the 4th of Dec

A night shot with the southern bypass in the foreground and the whole downtown in the background would be great. If there wa a mine dump in there too that would be even better, but they've all been reworked, right?

Thanks Jan for putting it up, and I do apologise to everyone else who felt it didn't meet expectations.

Thought I should give an explanation of the images tho..

The first is of the Constitutional Court with the Hillbrow Tower in the backround.
The second is of a park in Killarney that is bathed in Jacarandas at this time of the year.
The third and fourth are panaromic shots of Joburg.
The fifth is the SA flag in a beaded form, which is located behind where the judges sit in the Con Court.
The sixth is street entertainment in Rosebank, in the form of a Zulu man blowing fire.
And the last shot is to show Joburg's Art Deco side - that apartment block can be found in Killarney.

So all 3 main cities have had a banner up! cool. lets hope we can get Greg's vic embankment one up soon!

Do we need the train one? Although this may be the Gautrain, it still looks like just another train anywhere - not exciting looking. And its just a render.

pule I love that jozi one and greg those vic embankment ones are superb esp the south africas playground one!! we must have that as a ssc banner!

is there anyway we can add an A1 car to that? but keep the sufer dude, & the durbs sign, its looks cool. the banner sizes can be bigger now, I read that some where.
