Nice job hitting the hoods. I like the one with the skyline in the background and train tracks in the foreground.

These pictures again show that Cleveland has some really nice neighborhood architecture. The numbers of brick apartment houses and recent urban density infill is very impressive. In geography as well as topography & architecture, demographics & economics, Cleveland reflects an interesting blend between Pittsburgh & Chicago.

Nice picz, way to go!

Great pics, but by diversity, do you mean architectural, or ethnic?

Because...

"Cleveland remains highly segregated and profits from little international immigration. The number of whites living in Cleveland plummeted in the 1990s, and modest gains in black, Hispanic, and Asian populations were not enough to compensate for these losses. The city's foreign-born population grew by a mere 400 persons over the decade, signaling that while modest numbers of immigrants continued to arrive in Cleveland (9,300 in the 1990s), an equivalent number of earlier arrivals left the city for the suburbs or beyond. In addition, the metro area remains highly stratified along racial and ethnic lines, with blacks confined to the city's east side and eastern suburbs, Hispanics clustered on the west side, and whites located in the downtown and southern/western suburbs."

How is this? To my eyes, Cleveland and Saint Louis are polar opposites. (At least physically). St. Louis is just an endless parade of red brick. Frame houses make up a small percentage of houses there. Cleveland is filled with a sea of frame houses. Brick houses are a lonely minority in Cleveland. Of course, beneath the skin there are similarities, but not anything you might deduce from this photo thread.

Oh architecturally speaking of course. The foursquares, rowhouses, villas, it all culminates into a massive climax that screams...well...Cleveland!

I agree 100%. Cleveland is kind of a Northeast/Midwest hybrid.

I know alot of ya'll hate atlanta, but seriously, clevelands keystone tower would fit perfectly in the city! Check my photographs and you will see why. Cleveland and milwaukee are similar in that they need one more supertall building to make there skyline look better. ugh! but skyline isn't everything i guess.

This is Cleveland? I can't help but notice how "nice" this city looks in some of those pictures. Reminds me a lot of Pittsburgh and Detroit.

I always wanted to visit Cleveland someday and I will, I just don't know when.

Great photo tour, again, herodotus, your photos tour are always appreciated and great! Thanks!

I agree the Key Tower would fit in Atlanta, and I agree that Cleveland needs another supertall. Atlanta's skyline is spread out, and Key would be a nice fit, but I think they will build something soon to fit in with BOA and SunTrust. I would kill for some of ATL's skyscrapers, but I like height.

These pics are awesome anyways!

I'm guessing y'all mean Key Tower instead of keystone tower? There is no Keystone tower in Cleveland. I to would like to see another super tall built in Cleveland, too bad the Ameritrust tower or Pregressive life center were never built. We might get one or two soon though if the casino issue passes and they build a highrise hotel and also if one of Cleveland's lawfirms that is looking for space to expand builds a tower.
