When was there a design change?

Recently, apparently. Our Miami sleuths are digging into this one!

I hope this one gets built. It would be nice to see a supertall being under construction in a location that I can drive to in a day (New York would take at least a two day drive).

Not quite as nice as the old design but still fantastic news for Miami overall. Are the dimensions the same/similar?

And here's the results. It appears the new design isn't finalized so there may be more articulation to come:

Yes, I know! I watched the whole thing unfold that morning while getting ready for work.

Anyway, I did call as I said I would. They don't know what the building is going to look like. Plans haven't been finalized yet. Give them another 60-90 days I was told. Apparently, the rendering was just something preliminary for a press release. I spoke to the marketing director who seemed pretty excited about the project going forward since two years ago, he told me it wasn't even in the plans and that there wasn't even any money to do anything. He said he even had the architect standing in front of him. I then asked to speak to the architect, and the marketing director told me he wouldn't have any more to offer since nothing was final yet.

...

We'll just wait and see what FECR comes out with in the next few months.

Nice design. Would this be Miami's tallest? :)

Nice design. Would this be Miami's tallest? :)

Yes, and at 1,010 ft it would reach Miami's height maximum.

That's the height limit for Miami?

EDIT:

I thought you can build higher with special permission?
