The building has been conceptualised to achieve the Client's vision creating a timeless building with a landmark statement. The massing of the building is based on the assembly of two main forms of different nature. The first is the solid 'frame element' which expresses an anchorage to the ground; the second is the 'central body' supported by the 'frame element' and expresses a vertical movement towards the sky. This is further emphasised by the articulation of the 'main body' into lighter elements at the apex of the building.

The symbolic dialogue between these two forms creates the expression of dynamic movement vertically. This movement is further emphasised by the presence of the deep recess at the base which creates a weightlessness to the 'main body' of the tower.

The central main part view from the sides of the bldg is plain and boring, however the outer shell, the windows forming triangles and the front hides the plain sides are Impressive.

The building has a good sense of verticality to its design, and the different facades and structural elements complement each other quite well. However, the windows on the white part of the facade look too light and faded, and the vertical white stripe on the green part of the facade should either go all the way down the building or be totally removed instead of just stopping halfway. It's the little details that prevent this tower from being extraordinary in my view.

White and green is quite an unusual color scheme and I like it. It's strange that this building looks so much like an office tower while it's residential ! Besides that, design is all good and goes "out of the box", if I could say, with those fins, the spire and all.
The glass seems to have great reflective qualities which is also cool.

Bright Start roof sculpture
Bright Start Tower, Sheikh Zaid Road, Dubai, UAE

On behalf of the fabricator, we analysed the dynamics of the 32-tonne steel roof sculpture that will identify Bright Start Tower — a mixed-use development some 60 storeys tall.

The 42m steel wand, averaging 2.5m in diameter, is clad in aluminium panels and fixed at its base to an 18m high steel platform supported by the roof of the tower. Taking wind forces into account, the sculpture will result in reactions of up to 150 tonnes on some of the platform's supporting columns.

To harness the sculpture's dynamic response to wind, we recommended the introduction of a 600 kg chain damper attached to top of the structure inside the frame. This free-hanging weight acts to contain lateral excitation within acceptable limits.

Wind tunnel testing to our specification confirmed our calculations, enabling us to report to tower engineers on behalf of our client
