Spent a falafel filled lunch (first time I have EVER seen my cafeteria sell such good food :D) writing this and it's short because it's kind of hard to write about it. My inspiration kind of died out towards the end (because the people behind me were making cracks and laughing so hard at IE 7). I've got this posted on Deviant Art as well, the link is after the actual poem. This is my first attempt at writing such a structured poem on my own (not in a class environment) so I hope it turned out well. It's on the July War and requires a bit of reading between the lines since the face value of the words may look misleading.
REMEMBER
Over a heart a dark cloud grows
Through it's valleys and cities a foreign wind blows
The storm passes over familiar land
But on this earth there is no sand
Metal tears fall from the sky
An ashen cloud rises to the heavens as angels begin to cry
Thousands of once joyous voices are now silenced by thunder
For each a flame burns, we shall always remember
