Darn.. and I thought my cropping was good. :D I got it from the newspaper. Couldn't find a website for it.
but so wanting to see something big sprout up there
Yes. such a thing would make me outwardly excited.

Harkeb November 9th, 2006, 03:32 AM Looks nice without the roof. Why do Joburg achitects always overdesign their buildings, with faux mediterranean elements?
joburg November 9th, 2006, 06:53 AM ^^ Cos we live smack bang in the middle of the Med... duh!
Pule February 1st, 2007, 10:45 PM Is this building the one that is completed Joburg?
joburg February 1st, 2007, 11:35 PM Nope. I think you're thinking of the Emperor, which looks slightly similar to this design.
The Regent is being built in front of the Emperor, if I'm not mistaken.
Pule February 2nd, 2007, 02:15 AM Is it one of the buildings under construction in Sandton?
Durbsboi February 2nd, 2007, 08:52 AM Emporer looks nothing like this!
Inertia February 2nd, 2007, 07:05 PM Yep it is under construction. Very early construction tho, trucks are still coming in and out with dirt
Jakes1 October 8th, 2007, 01:14 PM Construction in full swing... 2 cranes, seems a third is going up...

Jakes1 October 9th, 2007, 10:27 AM Basil Read putting this one up, ooooooo
Yip, after the 'fun' they had with The Hydro... At least the Hydro is topped out, and they are painting it white...
Pule October 9th, 2007, 03:44 PM Jakes, I got Hydro pick, but I can't find its thread.
joburg October 9th, 2007, 03:59 PM Look under the Links to Development thread, it should be there under Sandton.

Upington February 25th, 2008, 12:05 AM .....totally agree Bravo......only a pro like Pule can take a picture around that tight turn.....especially when there is an old timer in a coverte behind you hooting bloody murder....good job bro!!...these projects gonna all come up at the same time and can't wait to see what Sandton skyline will be line come the end of this year......

Durbsboi February 25th, 2008, 09:08 AM http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f119/Puleza/Johannesburg/P1070776.jpg
lol, 4 floors up from October last year, dare I say it, BR seems to be steaming ahead with this one
dysan1 February 25th, 2008, 03:47 PM lol it is slow aint it, its bush needs a trimming tho, thats growing quicker than the building
Upington February 26th, 2008, 02:10 AM ....4 months ago.....
http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x31/Upington/Oct2007/P1010113.jpg
......i posted this photo on the Sandton gallery on November 16th......so, by comparison, these guys are moving very fast indeed..........
Inertia February 26th, 2008, 05:06 PM A floor a month isn't exactly fast..
Upington February 27th, 2008, 03:44 AM ....what you see depends on where you stand......i am no "know it all".....but i guess you have to take into account the floor size among other things.....
Durbsboi February 27th, 2008, 08:52 AM lol, no need to get heated up over this, BR tend to take things slow. Oh & just to let you know when we put up Ridgeton Towers in Umhlanga, Grinaker took 7 months to put up the 9 storey structure. with each floor in excess of 5000sqm ;)
Inertia February 27th, 2008, 06:11 PM Ok i will admit the floors are pretty big, not sure the sqm, but u can gather it from the render. Just seems that it has been going up slowly, but im no expert either
Durbsboi February 28th, 2008, 08:49 AM nah its cool, it was a joke at Basil Read, when you work with them, then you'll know ;)

This one is also 11 floors residential, I was told by one of the guys who was on site.
KomSakkie May 15th, 2008, 03:20 PM This is the one I'm talking about its MASSIVE.
Jakes1 May 15th, 2008, 03:57 PM Im counting 12F by the way
KomSakkie May 15th, 2008, 04:55 PM We need to start a tread for this 20 West Street South development, as we seem to revisting it more often and it can be a bit confusing having it live in a number of seperate threads. Jakes, Pule, both of you have a couple photos and a bit more infomation surrounding the development......perhaps either of you can do it or I can if you want......
Pule May 15th, 2008, 06:09 PM Please do the honour KS but the information that I got is as far as syaing it will be 11 floors residential developed by Baldwin.
