I managed to get downtown (briefly) and snapped a few pics of some projects under construction.

romec, you beat me to the punch :( Today, I was going to go downtown and take a few photos, with the intention to share them, but... Anyway, many thanks for saving me the trouble :) As krazeeboi nicely put it, Raleigh is a city under construction these days. As more projects are about to break ground in the following 6 months, the landscape will soon change. Great work, romec :okay:

Raleigh has soooo much potential. They need to build up!

What do you mean "had"? Raleigh still has potential and is really starting to realize it these days. Check out these pictures by Flash (I hope he minds me using them, since I'm sticking up for Raleigh here); the first one is the present-day skyline, the second is the future skyline:

One observation, for those of you not familiar with DT Raleigh. The Reynolds Tower 1 - the taller, bluish structure that has been added to the left of Flash's second photo - is only one block to the North and three blocks to the West of the Wachovia Center, the boxy, 2nd tallest tower that appears near the center of the photo. Which is why we need some taller high-rises along Salisbury, McDowell and Dawson streets to fill up the space and better connect the skyline. If that happens, rest assured that the skyline will start looking VERY impressive from the money shot angle.
