The disparity is increasing rapidly but if it's definitely low compare to other Southeast Asian countries. Although, one thing about WTO is that developed countries can protect its farm products while expecting developing countries to open up its economy.. and then later they question why the wealth disparity is so high :nuts:

That the way capitalism works, the rich gets richer and the poor usually stays the same. Even in moderately welfare-ish state like Australia, the rich are still getting richer (and faster than ever before) whilst the average working class folk is still burdened by rising petrol, food and housing prices. Unless Vietnam becomes like Denmark or Sweden with strong welfare system, it will take a few decades for our Vietnamese country folks and lower middle class folks in the city to achieve a decent standard of living.
