The 100M$ worth prestigious ‎residential building located in the most prominent location in Beirut Central District . The Dana ‎is a very challenging project including adopting the highest quality specifications , managing a ‎team of ten engineering and consulting companies , achieving construction to the highest ‎standards including shoring and excavation works up to -15m beneath SWL , coordinating with ‎‎18 different customers regarding individual interior design preferences , and applying strict ‎regulations set by Solidere and governmental authorities.

WOW,but 100 $ millions ,OMG,that's too much.the location is just perfect and it won't block the view from beirut and bay towers.

^^honnestly, they couldnt figure out a better facade for it since its right in front of the Marina

they could have utilized that crucial spot on the marina for something more beneficial than a stupid residential building

its ok. The second view of the building looks crap, but the corner views look good
it it was in a diffrent Location.. might not be as bad

I was hoping for a point tower, too stubby looking from the Marina view.. we need something slender and more curtain wall glass

It's not that bad really,but 100 millions$ is too much,that money can build a 50+ f tower in any other country in the region.that has to be EXTRA prestigious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Technically, it's not really in front of the Beirut Tower, only the Bay Tower.

I like the top of the building, not so much the main facade. It will certainly make the MT and PT look bad, but then again its only 8F and wont really have much of an impact.

this should be built some place else, its goin to destroy the facade of the waterfront... other designs would've been alot beta

I rekon ^^ it looks like 50 million or at least 20 million to build ..

But,maybe the plot is larger than the one that MT or PT were built on.

this dana building would have looked AWESOME,if it was 30+ floors.Just imagine,wide and tall,PRETTY :)

if it was any taller, it would cover the view of the building behind it. i think it looks good and of the right size. but the price is kinda too much...100 mil , thats over 10 milion per apartment? is that right? (thats assuming its 1 apartment per floor)

Everyday I pass by it and till now have not noticed anything special. I'm not sure if they are working on the foundation.

It is obvious that the cost of construction of this building has been the central issue in the thread. Honestly, once I read it is 100-million dollar project (This implies I'm not 100% per cent sure). However, taking into consideration the costs of neighbouring projects all exceed 100-million dollars, then it makes sense.

Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) announced, this past week, the launching of construction. CCC signed a contract with S.E.G Consultant to start construction with a completion by 2009

BTW CCC is the largest contractor company in the Middle East and is owned by 2 Lebanese. They are in 44 countries and emply 60,00 people

Okay... I guess this project was either halted or never commenced. But now, I see a crane at the construction site.

If I'm not mistaken, early Solidere quarterlies suggested that the building - same massing, but different facade - was originally to have been CCC's headquarters, as part of their return or partial return to Beirut.

That would have been good..I think a buisness in that spot may be cool ..i always thought the HSBC building (which was the alcazar hotel) didn't match the area..If the CCC was there it would make it fit in more..or better yet i think HSBC should be on the new land with the CCC...

maybe they could have put something better like an artisanat or traditional place where u can watch people make handicrafts there..since its going to be a very public area with the marina, shops, and surrounded wityh the hotels

The Dana has two cranes. The rest are for Capital Plaza.

Capital Plaza sounds so good (the name I mean)

I really like the building... but i think a highrise would've been much better looking in that plot, i would look a lot better if it were in the interior part of the BCD.

That depends on the system you use.

The European system is to start counting from the actual first floor and disregard the ground floor.
The American system is to count the ground floor as floor 1.

the height doesn't match with the other buildings, they should only have high buildings there

Actually, the height matches that of the Marina Court buildings. It creates some impression of depth; in 'urban fabric' terms, it's a thread tying the waterfront edge with the buildings behind and avoids the impression of a wall overshadowing the marina. Of course, the buildings behind it will complete the wall, and close the neighborhood behind off from the sea, but at least it avoids making the waterfront monolithic.

i always hated this building its in the middle of a skyscraper area really odd!

yeah me..
no they r working on it but you cant see a difference because of this green cover that they put on the building but there is a difference..
i think they are working more inside than outside because i see alot of workers on the site so they must be doing something..

^^ lol,they have been doing that "thing" for months now,and and that shouldn't take that time in a 9 floors building,Manara tower is about to be completed,and it was built months after the Dana.

Most probably they dont have enough money so they are constructing it slowly...

umm i don't i was down there and i saw ppl working on the building... but i still don't get why is this taking so longg.... :( ughhh

it really took too much time to be finished i mean all 2 tall buildings(4 seasons,platinum..)finished and this small project is still like when i saw it back NYE 09

its not on hold..
its just that the finishings is taking alot of time !

They are working on it but they are taking time to take out the green thing...
If you look at it closely u would see that they put the glass parts and all of the cladding.. the only part left is the top the rest is almost done!
