Wu-Gambino May 22nd, 2003, 05:52 AM 7. Ugly color, but this is a good example for African cities.
motul May 22nd, 2003, 05:59 AM HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, DISGUSTING!!!
X-seed 4000 May 22nd, 2003, 08:00 AM Hmm... I don't like the top. The façade is a bit dull. Lastly, I don't like the color scheme... not a good building. 3.0/10
The Messiah May 22nd, 2003, 02:40 PM :ohno: Not that good.... 5.0/10
RafflesCity May 22nd, 2003, 04:57 PM 5.5/10
Horrible facade.
renell May 22nd, 2003, 07:14 PM 4.5
ugly facade. the top part imo spared it from furthermore ugliness
SteelCity32 May 22nd, 2003, 08:02 PM I don't like the facade at all.
4.5/10
Lmichigan May 23rd, 2003, 05:17 AM I too don't like the facade, but that doesn't alone constitute it getting a bad rating. There are plenty of other buildings in the world with worst facades so I don't see why you guys are getting all riled up over this one. The massing of this building is perfect, mixed with the flaring crown make me like this building. I like the horizontal band of windows and the fact that this tower is cylindrical. I'm a sucker for these type of skyscrapers.
7.5/10

AcesHigh January 27th, 2004, 10:24 AM it looks like a very tall african tribe hut. I guess that was the objective.
7 World Trade July 22nd, 2004, 02:12 AM interesting diversion for skyscraper architecture. but they sorta went overboard with the design. the hat shaped conference center looks nice.
7.5
Þróndeimr August 25th, 2004, 12:12 AM Well, the tower is quite disgusting, horrible facade, boring and ugly shape. 5/10
MyJoburg September 3rd, 2004, 02:22 AM I think you are all ignoring its heritage, and the fact that no, this building is not the pretty, tall, and modern office block down the road from your suburb.
However, it is not trying to be pretty, or any of that. It is unique, and it is imposing.
7.9/10
Monkey November 25th, 2004, 11:17 PM it looks like a very tall african tribe hut. I guess that was the objective.

I agree with those who've expressed positive comments about the building ... it has a certain character about it, the shape is okay, and the facade isn't that bad. In fact, it creates an almost wooden appearance, like a tribe hut, as mentioned by AcesHigh. Believe me, I've seen FAR worse.

thryve August 6th, 2005, 04:06 PM Apparently nobody hear understands Africa. I think this building is a very exciting statement. The tower is truly African, and it represents the mystique of that continent.

Its exterior is better suited to a hotel than an office building. You should have converted it to a hotel years ago.
