Property-based Amona Group, which has secured contracts to undertake two housing development projects in Iran through its subsidiaries, is confident of getting another project to develop commercial and office blocks in that country.

Its managing director, Syed Hussin Shaikh AlJunid, said the company's optimism in getting the project was based on its success in securing the development of the two housing schemes in Iran and a contract for the design of the commercial and office blocks.

"We are looking to develop four towers meant for the government in Teheran which will have hotels, office and commercial space. Something like KLCC. Instead of two towers, we will have four towers but 70-storeys high," he said recently.

Syed Hussin said the company would design and develop the project for Iran's Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

I am sure that the four 70-floor towers are likely to be opposed because they are likely to eclipse the roof height of the Milad Observation Tower and we don't want that. This is old news anyway.

^^no cause milad tower will lose it's beauty than...
it will be better if they build it in Elahiye district or Mirdamad, Tehran Pars...

anyway like I said (if they build it)

It'd be bad both ways. The Elahieh cluster would be ruined by 70 fl towers and the area around Milad tower is too empty. If wish they could build a few 40 fl buildings in Elahieh to boost the skyline height.

^^yes I agree, that would be better, and 20-30 story buildings near Milad tower
the 70 stry can be used for cities like Shiraz, Tabriz or even Bandar abbas :D ....

I think it would be great if they build them
If they use a great architecture on them they could appear as a skyline from theirselves i mean there are enough mid-/high-rises in tehran so they wouldnt just stay around lonely
For a nice example you can mention madrids new mini-skyline

I doubt this company is anything serious. Maybe I'm judging too much but you can tell they can't build 70 storey towers from their website...

Somehow i agree that it isn't anything serious, but that's more because they promised to start construction 3 years ago rather than because they have a shitty web-site. :)

^

1. There is just one report about the towers from 4 years ago
2. The developer's website says nothing about the towers
3. If the towers were proposed 4 years ago they would be under construction or cancelled by now

No news.

In fact, all developers should avoid Teheran and look to somewhere with hope of town planning and is not so exposed to an earthquake.

hmm, why? they can build it earthquake-proof!
Tehran is still the largest and most modernized city of Iran and It's the only iranian city with a good reputation and GDP internationally. I guess the news was just propaganda. we've been used to them though.
