For me the best are the projects of Arquitectonica and Cesar Pelli. The office building will be THE FIRST SKYSCRAPER of Seville (population around 750.000 "town"-1.200.000 "metropolitan zone" is the 3º-4º city of Spain) , we have only a building of 17 stores of 1981 that have around 60 m.

The construction (of one of this projects) will start in April.

Definitely Arquitectónica studio. The César Pelli one seems almost like a repetition of his design for Costanera Center in Santiago, Chile.

Well... I'm a pretty big fan of Cesar Pelli. I'd go with his building. But the Arquitectonica one is ok as well, and so is the one by Arata Isozaki, though the latter might turn out to be too weird.

I've been to Sevilla once and it's such a great historic city and when you sit on one of the roofs the view across the roofs towards La Giralda is just gorgeous! This historic view is not disturbed by any modern buildings, but one of these towers would definitely endanger the "charme" of Sevilla! :(

Seville is unique, it's true, but in my opinion we can't stop the progress and the quality only for "A view". This Charmed will be in the city forever, the historic center will be in the city forever then, Where is the problem? Historic and modern building can be together in a big town like Sevilla.

Anyway, due to the location of the tower, it won't disturb at all that view you say. I mean, it won't appear in any of the most typical "pictures" over the city centre, since the view to Cartuja Island, where the tower will be built, isn't particularly a pretty attractive one.

But I must admit that some controversy about that issue is allowed, mainly cause actually it's really close to the centre, only the river is in between.

In my opinion, the first proposed mixed with historical buildings will make Seville even more charming.

#1 and 3 are my favorite. The second looks a little too tacky, and the last one looks like the Norman Foster proposal for the new WTC, except this building seems like it has been impaled by that huge spire.

This week we will known the design winner, it seems that the favourite is FOA Zaera that would be a ceramic facade in green and white (like the Andalusian flag), I don't like too much, my favourites are Arquitectónica and César Pelli, they are greats!

Arquitectónica is by far the best project but I don't think it will win as it is taller than what was permitted the city council i.e. 210 m, right? Isozaki’s project was also amazing but discarded due to its high costs.

Still one or two more days to know the winner or maybe even today!

Valode & Pistre's project just sucks as usual.

^^ Pelli's project sucks too, as well as Zaera Polo's one...

V&P tend to make realistic propositions budget-wise for each locations...

But of course, I'd choose Arquitectonica studio's project, very elegant...

The final decision will be public the next Friday 22 (or before), at the moment, the favourite project is the tower of Zaera, the cheaper tower of 174 million Euro.

The second cheaper is Pelli - 185 million Euro.
And the most expensive: Arquitectonica (of course), the better - 205 million Euro.

In the city, all people preffer Arquitectonica design, but I think that Zaera will win the contest, specially because is the cheaper.

Do not exist, only I can say you that the building would be destined to mixed uses, offices and shops.

I think that Seville will have the same charm with or without skyscraper, is an unique and special city in Europe (like Porto), but isn't bad that we can have a zone that the skyscrapers can exist like London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Berlin... I prefer an alive city than a dead city and living of the past we (all historic cities) can combine past and present. The historic cities can build it future with it special charm ever. It's not incompatible past with present.

I would choose Arquitectonica anyway as I find its design more original and the fact that this tower looks so slender and also much taller than the Pelli’s one, doesn't leave me cold.

Unfortunately the owners suffered some problems and the project is too delayed. Only earthmoving right now, but they expect to finish the tower in 2011/2012.

Wow, this must be one of the slowest projects in the history of Spain.

^^ Yeah true and the soft ground of seville diden't help speed things along either, they had to go extra deep on this one to find some nice stable hard ground.

La verdad es que es muy curioso el material de recubrimiento, nada parecido a lo que se ve comunmente por ahí (típica cortina de cristal). Ni si quiera desde cerca el material parece cerámica.

¿Que tono os gusta más?
