renell May 22nd, 2003, 06:09 PM don't like this 5.5/10 but it fits Rotterdam good:)
SteelCity32 May 22nd, 2003, 07:01 PM I don't care for it. A box.
5/10
X-seed 4000 May 23rd, 2003, 12:31 AM Pretty strange looking building. Though, I don't like it much. 6.0/10
RafflesCity May 23rd, 2003, 08:38 AM 7.5/10
Unique! It looks like its gonna fall over.

Oh please... Honestly, what does an architect have to do not to end up with a building you would call...A box.
Does a box have sloping sides? No. This building does.
Angles that aren't straight? Nope, but this building does.
Pillars? Same.
Extended facades? Same.
Setbacks? SAME.
Maybe you should pick up a dictionary and look up the definition of the word "box", because you seem to have no clue of what you are talking about.
I'm just getting a little bit aggitated by everyone who calls a building "just a box". I would recommend savethewtc's thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=39318
Chad May 24th, 2003, 10:35 AM Toren op Zuid is designed to be the centerpiece icon of Rotterdam's Port, The frontal structure leans 78 degree from the vertical line gives a special contrasting feeling for the irregular shape building and the ground. Instead of using same white-boring concrete wall like the other 3 sides, The leand side has these gorgeous looking green-hollow glass wall panal and the special white circular supported beam pointed in the center point of it..: and makes it looks unstable without avoided any beuty of its. The Remarkable fins that extended from the top is the significant part that make the whole building looks slimmer and taller..Innovatively creative skyscraper!!..9/10
Raddie May 24th, 2003, 08:45 PM The façade was supposed to have held an 80x40m TV screen (which would have been the largest in Europe), but this proved too expensive and instead a computer-controlled array of 896 green lights was installed.
Hmm, it's a very strange building but I like it. 8/10
New Jack City May 25th, 2003, 04:00 AM 5/10...I don't like the sloping front, the colors aren't that great and there's a hole with a huge white stick in the skyscraper! It doesn't look all that nice at night either.
tayser May 25th, 2003, 04:25 AM love the form, and of course, the Dutchies doing what they do best, splashing big bold colours everywhere ;)

Gustavo June 8th, 2003, 10:28 PM The front is amazing, but the sides are a big turn off.

Wisma July 17th, 2003, 11:02 AM 4/10 Ugly thing....

I was about to say something similar. it's interesting, but it's not my cup of tea. it fits well to rotterdam though...kinda plain, modern 6
freson September 19th, 2003, 11:29 PM Despite it is considered a masterpiece, I don't like it
Wu-Gambino September 20th, 2003, 03:23 PM 3/10
Fabio November 16th, 2003, 10:40 PM 5.5/10
Sorry I don't like it .
james2390 June 4th, 2004, 06:53 AM Very unique, but wierd - 5/10
wajz August 25th, 2004, 12:41 AM It looks better at night with LED lights racing across the slanted panel. But otherwise this is only a slight variation on the typical boring Rotterdam shoebox. And given the sublime location at the end of the swan-like Erasmus bridge, this is yet another massive blown opportunity. Will Rotterdam EVER get it right???
trickykid August 25th, 2004, 01:51 AM one of my favorite buildings in the world. i cant really explain it.
SeeMacau August 25th, 2004, 05:51 AM Not bad .. 6.5/10

Xabi March 29th, 2005, 04:53 PM It could be incredible without this vertical column in front of the building.
