Why don't they just fill all the space with floors? buildmilehightower March 17th, 2009, 01:28 PM honestly, this spire has got to be the thickest spire in the world... (in diameter) Jude12 March 17th, 2009, 01:50 PM ^^ fresh and clean shot venus. :okay: keep it coming. :D toddhubert March 17th, 2009, 03:08 PM this is cool! massive updates! RonnieR March 17th, 2009, 03:42 PM I love this sexy Guangzhou tower  Assemblage23 March 17th, 2009, 04:35 PM The more pictures I see of this tower, the more I like. And I just donīt know how much I'd loved it if I saw it in person. Thanks for sharing. SilentStrike March 17th, 2009, 05:27 PM thnx venus. according to dictionary.com the definition of a ferris wheel is: "an amusement ride consisting of a large upright wheel rotating on a fixed stand and having seats around its rim suspended freely so that they remain right side up as they revolve." So its not a ferris wheel, but its still a really cool ride. drew.magoo March 17th, 2009, 05:58 PM ^^ its an interesting ride, but i dont understand how it is all that practical, seeing as one can just walk around the edge as he pleases. i guess the only benefit to this would be the ability to look over the edge without having the fear of falling off because of inadequate railing  http://*************************/guangzhou/jpgs/guangzhou_tv_tower_iba141108_9.jpg SilentStrike March 17th, 2009, 07:11 PM ^^ take a good look at this pic http://img1.cache.netease.com/catchpic/F/F7/F71111A57FE490776B026821BEB07770.jpg germantower March 17th, 2009, 07:44 PM I would shit in my pants while sitting in one of those capsules. But it will surely be a spectacular ride. allthough i think that the number of 20-40 rpm is a bit exxagerated..... I really love the slenderness of this tower.... toddhubert March 17th, 2009, 08:52 PM I would shit in my pants while sitting in one of those capsules. But it will surely be a spectacular ride. allthough i think that the number of 20-40 rpm is a bit exxagerated..... I really love the slenderness of this tower.... it's not running at 20-40 rpm! that's one round costs 20-40 mins drew.magoo March 17th, 2009, 10:21 PM ^^ take a good look at this pic what about it? i mean, it does look really cool, but i guess that i was just hoping for something with a little bit more thrill. if they do end up installing the gravity ride, i still have no idea how they will ever pull it off with the lattice structure. germantower March 17th, 2009, 10:23 PM ^^ isnt this capsule ride at a height of 400m+ thrill enough? drew.magoo March 17th, 2009, 10:30 PM ^^ lol, i dunno i guess what im trying to say is that if i were to pay money for a ride, i would want it to be something like a thriller amusement park ride (something like a gravity ride), that also does not obstruct the view of the observers who choose to stay on the deck. now if the bubbles actually did end up running at 40 rpm, then i might reconsider my disapproval  the sock March 17th, 2009, 10:31 PM great update SilentStrike March 17th, 2009, 10:36 PM what about it? i mean, it does look really cool, but i guess that i was just hoping for something with a little bit more thrill. if they do end up installing the gravity ride, i still have no idea how they will ever pull it off with the lattice structure. its shows that theres much more to see from the cabin. drew.magoo March 17th, 2009, 10:44 PM ^^ well thats what im saying, that you can see more without falling off, but i would rather them just put pedestals with nice railing on the edges i just dont like how the bubbles--and the nodes on the antenna--ruin the look the whole structure. i dont know, maybe thats just me. spicytimothy March 18th, 2009, 06:49 AM Knowing the record for Chinese amusement park rides, I'm gonna give this at least 5 years before I go. SilentStrike March 18th, 2009, 10:02 AM ^^ is there a real record or are you just stereotyping/bsing? dachacon March 18th, 2009, 10:44 AM why the chinese? i would give that title to dubai, after all holding amusement records is more in there arena. googleabcd March 18th, 2009, 08:04 PM More pics http://bbs.home.news.cn/upfiles/03DD0C32.001E http://bbs.home.news.cn/upfiles/03DD0C32.001E http://bbs.home.news.cn/upfiles/03DD0935.001E buildmilehightower March 18th, 2009, 08:58 PM ^^ cheers google, the pictures above don't give us a slightest hint of gravity ride... oh well, maybe there wont be one. I guess its replaced by perimeter orbiting dining cells. I heard there will be theater at the roof as well, but it looks as though there wont be one. With the spire blocking the performance. SilentStrike March 18th, 2009, 09:25 PM that 10 chairs with a tiny table in there, are we supose to eat? oh yea and thnx google. toddhubert March 19th, 2009, 02:05 AM that's cool pics! I would go and try it next year VRS March 19th, 2009, 03:43 AM are we will listen music or any tiny LCD inside there..?? Jude12 March 19th, 2009, 01:16 PM i see no gravity rid?. :dunno: buildmilehightower March 19th, 2009, 02:04 PM This is just like the London Eye rotating horizontally. I hope and think that the sphere rotates on itself as well, otherwise the people sitting in the inner side wont see anything, if the sphere don't rotate, there will be a massive problem with where people wanna sit. skyscraper100 March 19th, 2009, 02:09 PM the table is so small! youall cant eat with that table Banjalučanin March 19th, 2009, 02:35 PM the table is so small! youall cant eat with that table Haha, yeah really! :) Nice perception. ;) toddhubert March 19th, 2009, 03:32 PM i don't think anyone would eat or watch any videos on the LCD in it without watching the scenery. Jude12 March 19th, 2009, 03:39 PM i prefer the inside of those sphere just like London Eye's. I don't know what's the use of the table. :dunno: skyscraper100 March 19th, 2009, 03:55 PM if the tables are a bit big its ok, maybe its like a sky restaurant or something. i think its the guangzhou tower's version of rotating restaurants. Jude12 March 19th, 2009, 03:59 PM ^^ i think its for observation only. ;) skyscraper100 March 19th, 2009, 05:35 PM how do you know? what do you think the use of the tables? Jude12 March 19th, 2009, 05:39 PM ^^ I just think. the tables? idk. it's just inappropriate to put thos tables and that small inside. :D buildmilehightower March 19th, 2009, 06:43 PM I'm startin to doubt the gravity ride now, don't see it happening. If it was to be inside the spire, it would be no fun for people, it its outside the spire, then it would not make sense... Why u people questioning the table? london eye only has a bench and that's it LOL SilentStrike March 19th, 2009, 08:00 PM ^^ prolly just to play cards or sumthing. Way too small to eat on it and having lunch/dinner in such a cabit is weird. The ride might be too short, which would suck when ur halfway ur dish and it might also be too long and its not that pleasant to have a finished plate there for 30 minutes. another thing is that they can never make the food fast enough before you get into the cabin. So yea, it's just to put your cards down or to have a drink at most. spicytimothy March 20th, 2009, 01:48 AM Why all this talk about the table? It's just a table period. Is this built/designed by the same people behind the London Eye? googleabcd March 20th, 2009, 02:35 AM No need to argue about the table as it is just a rendering, doesn't represent the final design at all CULWULLA March 21st, 2009, 04:45 AM I'm startin to doubt the gravity ride now, don't see it happening. If it was to be inside the spire, it would be no fun for people, it its outside the spire, then it would not make sense... Why u people questioning the table? london eye only has a bench and that's it LOL a few pages back the gravity ride was talked about. its been replaced with ferris wheel ride. lets move on.. droneriot March 21st, 2009, 04:55 AM Can't they have both? :( It'd be the worlds highest amusement park... |
