I was in Salford today, and visited the quays, so I thought i'd share some of the Photo's I took while there.

An obvious one to start with. The Lowry:

Not sure what building this is, but I think it's one of the most interesting building's in Salford Quays:

And something a bit more average

I love this Quay West building too. It's really american in style, and quite imposing:

The Imperial War Museum and the Hovis factory:

Don't know what buildings these are:

Bit of a skyline Picture:

Obviously I had to take a few snaps of this:

The city lofts development:

I think it's a bit of a shame that with all the interesting buildings around they couldn't do anything more interesting with the car park. I know Sheffield has at least 2 iconic car-parks in the pipeline.

And some other parts of Salford:

There's a couple of other pictures on the Urban Photo Contest page.

They were all taken from Salford Quays though. I mean Beetham's obviously not in Salford.

Great pictures Paul - you'll have Longford tweaking your verticals though.

Hi Paul.
11th Pic down (Cluster of office blocks) is the Exchange Quay development. I used to work down there a few years ago. Up until recently, there was a huge space of undeveloped land (fronting the main rd opp. the Copthorne hotel with the Metrolink stop situated behind), which is now nearing the final phase of the Ex. Quay's development completion.

Trust me, some of these pictures (still fantastic pictures) weren't taken in Salford Quays, but in Trafford Wharf. I'm the first to say that if you don't live in the region, I wouldn't expect anyone to know or care about that thou.

Fair enough then.

Also, your pic of Dock 9/North Bay/Northern Wharf is a cracker and shows the fantsatic waterside location and potential for the BBC on that site (if it happens)

It that the site the media city would be on then? I think it would be a brilliant site, and It'd bring some life to the quays. I did like them, but they felt a bit sterile in a way.
