I don't see why the gold coast would be an environmental disaster. Nothing wrong with highrises on the beach, prevents all those people from owning a house, therefor spreading even further along the coast. At least this way more coast is preserved, and human activity confined to one area.

environmental disaster


i wouldnt call it an evironmental disaster as its the same as any other urban development except with canals. the water quality of those canals is actually very good.

i would call the GC a planning disaster as the canals were poorly planned with the development of linking roads which has made accessibility on the GC a nightmare, hence the shocking traffic.

still, it looks beautiful!

Strictly speaking the Gold Coast is an environmental disaster because the original tidal ecoystem has been completely destroyed. Then again this is no different to most other cities.
