Reinsdorf Sucks January 29th, 2007, 05:15 AM Outstanding pictures Retrograde!! I was in the city this weekend. But couldn't get any pictures. Nicholas.Navarro January 30th, 2007, 08:10 PM I noticed something odd on the north east side of the building with the cladding. Yesterday, while on my way to work I noticed that they just about finished cladding on the 14th floor. But, today I noticed that they removed about 6 of the pannels on the northeast side of the 14th floor? Perhaps the alignment for the cladding was partly off and they ended up having to redo it? Taylorhoge January 30th, 2007, 08:23 PM I love the letters on it it kinda makes it seem like Chicago has its own times square. mikeleg January 30th, 2007, 09:35 PM Facade is simply beautiful... skyperu34 January 31st, 2007, 02:24 PM great updates!!! How about an 8 floor observation deck? I don't know. I suppose it could be residential. That upper section could have its own separate elevator that people transfer to from the main elevator. You know that I added those top 5 floors, right? I think Trump should just add this on since he's goning to 96 as it is. Then Chicago (and North America) will get another 100= floor building. i_am_hydrogen February 3rd, 2007, 01:34 AM Taken yesterday: http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/9273/trump2107tb6.jpg (http://imageshack.us) Reinsdorf Sucks February 3rd, 2007, 05:55 AM Nice pic. I think they've actually gone pretty quick since the first setback. But that's probably because I was so used to only seeing the parking levels for so long. LosAngelesMetroBoy February 3rd, 2007, 09:01 AM since i always notice random things in pics, lets list them shall we. #1 Massive McDOnalds #2. Effe Vodka- imported from holland. #3. First Level after setback dosent utilize all available space. WIth how expenseve this building is per square foot, you would think trump would be putting as much floor plate as he could down. Ive been to that rainforest cafe but dont remeber a mcdonalds next to it? Myster E February 4th, 2007, 01:15 AM simply breath taking is this building in the Windy city, the cladding looks superb and the location is just so suitable for a skyscraper of this proportion. I llike how the bridges and river connect the environment and buildings together, this being the centrpoint pinnacle attraction. EnDleSsWaLtZ February 4th, 2007, 07:30 AM When did that mcdonalds go in? Ive been to that rainforest cafe but dont remeber a mcdonalds next to it? Not to trail off topic …that McDonalds in that picture in fairly new actually. It's a re-model of what was once called "The Rock n' Roll McDonalds". The RnR McD's had a sort of 70’s rock theme going for it with pictures of Elvis and the Beatles and even some memorabilia from them and other various artists. This new one is the fanciest McD’s I’ve been in. You have plasma TV playing the same ol’ crap over and over while you eat some of the tables have so light show thing going on with them. Did I mention it’s two stories! Sorry folks no dollar menu at this location and expect to pay a little more for your meal than you would out in the suburbs. mtb_nz February 4th, 2007, 12:22 PM wicked.... its coming along really well... thnaks for the updates Duopolis February 4th, 2007, 01:50 PM Thanks for updates! willy789 February 4th, 2007, 11:03 PM anybody have any idea when the Trump Tower Toronto will get underway? choyak February 5th, 2007, 04:56 AM I remember a McDonalds in Harbor City, Calif it has 2 stories and a huge FISH TANK in the middle. One down the street from me near Knott's has only 1 story but a model train zipping along near the ceiling. I think it is Effen Vodka????? Sorry for the off topicness. It appears that the large square columns are continuing all the way up. I see the smaller round columns at the setback. This looks like one tough building..... The pic with only the part above the setback is absolutely stunning. Seeing the background is amazing and causes alot of replies about McDonalds!!!! I now see the shape of this building it is perfect for the location. Taylorhoge February 5th, 2007, 05:33 AM I said before about how it looks a little like Times Square of Chicago when u get the view of the worlds biggest Mcdonolds and all the billboards it does look a little bit like Times Square. LosAngelesMetroBoy February 5th, 2007, 05:54 AM wow.... my offtopicness started a bunch of replies. But this building goes really fast untill theres a setback... then it just takes forever to get the setback done EnDleSsWaLtZ February 5th, 2007, 08:04 PM Ok back on topic... Here's a quick snapshot of Chicago's beloved Trump Tower through the Tribunes webcam. I enlarged it just a bit for better viewing purposes. FYI if any would like to save the images from the Trump cam's website all you have to do is press print/screen on your keyboard and paste the image on to paint. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a105/lelamay/Untitled-4.jpg megatower February 6th, 2007, 07:22 PM ^^ nice pic, progress is going alot faster now  Escoto_Dubai2008 February 6th, 2007, 08:02 PM I looks very wonderful. Chi649 February 7th, 2007, 03:23 AM anybody have any idea when the Trump Tower Toronto will get underway? It seems like nobody knows at this point. A couple of months ago, when I was following the Trump Tower Toronto thread, it seemed like it would be July of this year, but this may have changed by now. Your best bet would be to periodically check out the Trump Tower Toronto thread, which you can find here: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=386744&page=22 CrazyCanuck February 7th, 2007, 04:51 AM No date has been set but yeah, speculation has it set during June or sometime during the summer. EnDleSsWaLtZ February 9th, 2007, 11:18 PM Here's a picture grabbed today from the Trump Webcam earlyier this morning. From what it seems not too much really has been going on externals with the tower. Sadly no new floors or cladding on the transfer floors. I think the climate over here in Chicago has a lot to do with the slow progress. Perhaps there's more going on in side the tower than on the outside? Trump Tower has been at floor 24 for the last three weeks or so. I think it may be too cold over here in Chicago for any concrete pouring; that may be the reason why the building isn't getting any taller. Still the building is showing great progress. CrazyAboutCities March 8th, 2007, 07:59 AM Which building are you reffering to? Burj Dubai? Yes Burj Dubai. depressio March 8th, 2007, 11:03 AM Except burj has some radial symmetry while this has none . . . the only really striking resemblance I can see is in the cladding. This building is made to fit in with the flat-topped broad-shouldered Chicago buildings, while burj is designed to be the centerpiece of a giant development complex. Both do well in their respective categories, but neither one is really a favorite of mine.
