Crazy, could look pretty cool, but this is a bit too extreme! :)

 I'm confused ... where is this supposed to go? Considering the age of the thread, is the project still "one the table?"

this was just one of the concept proposals. i'm not sure if there ever was a winner in the competition.

Hmmm ...

Thanks, Jarmo, but so I continue to be thoroughly unenlightened. But perhaps it's better that way.

I can keep holding on to all my dreams and illusions about Tallinn and watch them come to shreds one by one ...

oooh sorry d, this proposal was meant for the highrise district in the 'city' area - as of now there's a huge quarter with shabby old shacks (of which one is under protection and must be preserved) in the middle of the 'classy' highrises. don't know if any of those plans will ever be considered when (if?) plans go ahead.

but tallinn is only getting better and better. the newly established center of architecture is doing a magnificent job organizing forums and lectures, educating the public (and those dumb politicians) on quality architecture, public space etc.

exciting times!

Well, being a member of the uneducated public myself, I can certainly see the potential benefits of being "educated!" ;)

And you're right, space needs to be cleared for Tallinn's new CBD, and considering all the new development in Vilnius and Riga, you guys sure do need to keep up! :okay:
