United Arab Emirates: 50 minutes ago
Zabeel Investments and United Holdings have formed a joint venture to build $477m Tiara United Towers on Dubai's Sheikh Zayed Road. The 61-storey twin towers are slated for completion in 2009. One tower will be dedicated to office space and the other will house a five-star business hotel with 400 rooms, including serviced apartments.

Zabeel Investments and United Holdings have announced a joint venture to build the AED 1.75 billion Tiara United Towers, a reference landmark on the Sheikh Zayed Road.

Tiara United Towers.
The visually striking 61-storey twinned towers are slated for completion in 2009 and represent an architectural first for the region.
The project is the first partnership for Zabeel Investments and United Holdings, a Dubai-based holding company with interests in commercial, residential and retail property development, investments in hospitality and recreation projects, as well as areas of finance.
Mohammed Ali Al Hashimi, Executive Chairman for Zabeel Investments, said: 'This joint venture will see a true architectural icon take its place in Dubai's vision. The concept and planning for Tiara United Towers has been under discussion for months; as we looked for new techniques and solutions in order to bring something truly original; another Dubai first.'
In a regional construction first, Tiara United Towers will feature a colouration technique, which will have the building appear in multiple colours as the building ascends. The exterior of the building will also feature veins; like those on a leaf, spreading across the surface from the corners and embracing the building. The scheme of the façade follows the colour spectrum, and as such is the definition of visible light.
In a fine balance between rational design and poetic interpretation, one of the towers will be dedicated to executive office space, while the sister tower will house a five-star business hotel comprising around 400 rooms. Connected by a leisure podium that circumscribes both towers organically, the entire complex sits on a 75,000 square foot area of business, hospitality, convention, retail and entertainment space.
'With Dubai's current shortage of office space, and consistent need for more short stay hotel rooms Tiara United Towers will feed a gap in the Dubai commerce market,' continued Al Hashimi.
United Holdings CEO, Abbas Kiani, said of the joint venture: 'For our first development project, signing up with Zabeel Investments will allow us to realise an ambitious, yet unique property. United Holdings is committed to developing bespoke projects that reflect the vision of Dubai, and that will become a reference point on Dubai's main highway.'
The office tower will comprise 350,000 square feet of leasable commercial space, while the hotel will provide 400 rooms including serviced apartments. Although a management contract for the hotel is yet to be decided on, the property will be more focussed on business and executive travellers. In another first for Sheikh Zayed road, Tiara United Towers will feature a robotic parking system with 1500 spaces. The complex will also comprise 50,000 sq. ft of retail space over six storeys.
Tiara United Towers has been managed by Asteco Development Management with consultation by adpi Designers and Planners and Project Management & Development Consultants (PMDC). adpi Designers and Planners have been responsible for the design of Dubai International Airport's Terminal Three, the New Passenger Terminal at Imam Khomeini International Airport, in Iran, the A380 Final Assembly Line Complex, Toulouse, France as well as China's National Grand Theatre in Beijing and the Shanghai Oriental Art Centre.

Zabeel Investments development portfolio tops AED 6.4 billion
12/12/2006 4:17:00 PM
http://i16.tinypic.com/2zsxxsl.jpg
Zabeel Investments will close out 2006 with a property development portfolio which exceeds AED 6.4 billion. The company, which launched in February this year, announced the value of the portfolio after announcing a new joint venture landmark development, Tiara United Towers, with Dubai-based United Holdings.
Mohammed Ali Al Hashimi, Executive Chairman for Zabeel Investments, said: “This has been a phenomenal year for us considering it’s our first; as we have achieved much more than we initially projected. This can be put down to the right opportunities presenting themselves at the right moment and the speed with which the Zabeel team acted on the opportunities.”
Zabeel Investments property portfolio includes the AED 2.1 billion Tiara Residence on the Palm Jumeirah and the AED 700 million TUI Resort properties on the Palm, operated by Iberِtel and Robinson Club. The portfolio also comprises the America Hotels & Resorts, the first development announced as part of the Bawadi hospitality and tourism project, with a substantial AED 1.85 billion value, as well as the recently announced AED 1.75 billion Tiara United Towers.
Al Hashimi continued: “In line with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision for Dubai, it’s all about building for a sustainable future. We put a lot into research in guiding our projects; we look to develop in landmark locations; areas that are relevant to our customers, through a strategic mix of residential, commercial, retail and hospitality projects. We are developing structures that are homes and not just a roof over ones head, but we are also creating for lifestyles, places where one can work and relax with the minimum of stress.”
“This is just the beginning for Zabeel Investments. Our goal is to have our developments dictate the next phase of property development; not just building homes and offices, but communities and lifestyles.”
Zabeel Investments, as a multi-diversified company, is looking to a diversified portfolio of projects; one which would also include a broad range of lifestyle and cultural elements. Zabeel has focussed the purchasing of equity stakes in a number of partner businesses, which will allow the company to tap into a variety of services and levels of expertise for its ever expanding real estate portfolio.
Al Hashimi concluded: “2007 will bring an even greater expansion of our portfolio, with a number of new projects on the horizon, particularly in the international arena. In addition, we will continue to seek equity stakes in established businesses, specifically those with a proven track record. For us, the future is about quality, and not necessarily quantity. Zabeel’s developments will stand the test of time.”

thanks
AltinD June 3rd, 2007, 04:10 PM ^^ Give me some time.
BTW I have also some drawings for a couple of 2 much. much, much more profilic towers but they are AutoCad drawings. Since I don't have that what other program or plug-in I can use to open them?
malec June 3rd, 2007, 04:43 PM If they are in autocad format send them to me and I'll import them into sketchup
AltinD June 3rd, 2007, 06:56 PM ^^ All 300 - 400 MB of them?
One of them is for a top part that might have been re-designed as in extended ;)
malec June 4th, 2007, 01:11 PM Well, how many files do you have?
Maybe you can send one, see if it works and then maybe send the rest.
If a file is under 100 megs go to rapidshare.com (it's the fastest uploader) and upload there. If they're more than that you'll need to split them up using winrar (http://www.rarlab.com/index.htm) or something like that.
Alternatively you could download one of the renderers and do it yourself, but it does take a while to read the tutorials, etc so better to send :)
Or you could just tell us what these projects are :)
What format are the files btw?
Trances June 4th, 2007, 03:33 PM good to see more twins

EMIRATES TODAY STAFF business@emiratestodayonline.com
Multiforms, a subsidiary of Emaar Industries & Investments, yesterday said it has won a contract worth Dh175 million from contracting company Arabtec for the supply and installation of the external cladding for Tiara United, a two-tower project on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Multiforms will create four coloured zones that blend into one another as the building ascends, in imitation of the light spectrum. The facade work will also have an organic feel to it, similar to the veins on a leaf, the company said.
“Tiara United will be an exceptional addition to Dubai’s already vibrant skyline and Multiforms is pleased to play a leading role in achieving this purpose,” said Managing Director Firas Al Rifai.
The glass cladding for the buildings, which is set to be complete in 2010, will cover more than 45,000 square metres. The twin towers are slated for commercial use and will rise up to 61 floors, affording an additional 350,000 square feet of office space.
“We have chosen Multiforms because such iconic developments require reliable and world-class partnerships,” said Riad Kamal, Managing Director, Arabtec Construction. Multiforms is the region’s largest architectural aluminum facade supply and installation company.

LCL Corporation Bhd’s United Arab Emirates unit, LCL Interiors Contracting LLC, has secured a RM145 million contract to undertake interior works for the Hotel Tower at Tiara United Towers.
The contract will involve 332 hotel rooms located at Tiara United Towers, a project touted to be an architectural icon in Dubai upon its completion next year, the group said in a statement here, today.
“This contract will enhance our order book and will provide us with a sustained income base over the next few years.
“It reflects the success of our group’s expansion efforts so far,” its group managing director Low Chin Meng said.
The uniqueness of Tiara United Towers, a development jointly undertaken by Dubai-based property developers Zabeel Investments and United Holdings, lies in the colouration technique used which will have the building appear in multiple colours as the building ascends. — Bernama

AltinD March 3rd, 2008, 08:54 PM ^^ There are at least three tower cranes operating on site so progress should be there, however it is very difficult to check from SZR, due to the huge billboard in front of the site.
Stephan23 March 4th, 2008, 06:08 PM Thx for telling!! Hope they will rise a few floors up and you can check easier!! :okay:

The full mechanical, electrical and plumbing contract (MEP) for Dh181 million for the 47-storey Tiara United Towers on Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai, a joint venture real estate project from Zabeel Investments and United Holdings valued at Dh1.75 billion, has been awarded to Drake and Scull International LLC (DSI), a leading end-to-end service provider of electrical and mechanical engineering.

ZZ-II April 13th, 2008, 08:35 PM only 47 floors now?? what a pity :(
AltinD April 13th, 2008, 11:59 PM ^^ Maybe not including the podium and the mechanical floors. However, both towers are above ground now.
Stephan23 April 15th, 2008, 11:59 AM Think also, it's without podium & mech floors.
Podium 10 floors maybe. 4 mech floors. That's it!!!
Possible!!!!
Above ground!!! :okay:
ZZ-II April 15th, 2008, 09:15 PM ^^ Maybe not including the podium and the mechanical floors. However, both towers are above ground now.
at least one good news :), thought all the time they're still at foundation-stage.....they're always so fast :D
six453 April 17th, 2008, 07:31 PM if i remember it right there seems to be some files floating around of this tower.. architectural files..
AltinD April 17th, 2008, 07:49 PM ^^

saeed April 27th, 2008, 08:08 PM I wish If some one be too kind and explain to me the meaning of Podium floor in a building?
and why there are 10 floors of them?!!
AltinD April 27th, 2008, 09:52 PM ^^ Podium is the lower part of an building that is wider then the rest, with floors used for different purpose then the main tower. They may be used as parking, retail, conference facilities etc.
saeed April 28th, 2008, 10:43 AM I got it 100%
Thank you so much :)

Dubaiiscool:) June 2nd, 2010, 11:01 AM Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, said that investment in key economic sectors is an important strategic option for the coming period.
Zabeel Investments - a multi-diversified investment house which has delivered the Dh2.1 billion Tiara Residence - said, its asset increased to Dh8 billion in recent months.
Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, said on Tuesday that investment in key economic sectors is an important strategic option for the coming period.
He met on Tuesday with the board of directors of Zabeel Investments when he was briefed by the company's chairman, Saleh Lootah, on the progress being achieved at the company's various projects. Shaikh Hamdan emphasised that the focus in the coming period should be on projects and plans of strategic priority.
During the meeting, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad was briefed on one of the company's major projects; the prestigious Zabeel Saray, a five-star hotel being built on Jumeirah Palm which boasts oriental designs and is considered one of the most luxurious hotels in the region.
Work on the project is reported to be 99 per cent complete and the resort is scheduled to be opened later on this year when it will be added to Dubai's distinguished portfolio of touristic projects.
Zabeel Investments was established in 2006 with its portfolio of assets recently reaching an impressive Dh8 billion diversified amongst various sectors including real estate development, construction, hospitality, media, financial services, and education.
Zabeel Investments launched Tiara Residence on Palm Jumeirah at a cost of Dh2.1 billion

Maybe they will have just around 15-20 floors.
After the formwork, the crane on the NE tower has been removed. Nothing of such happening on the other tower.
Maybe there is something wrong there, cause they wouldn't remove the crane if they intended to top the structure at the current level. But if they are to completely abandon the site, why did they add rebar on the central core of the other tower, and probably steel beams too?
AltinD June 4th, 2010, 01:06 PM The formwork on the 2nd tower is being removed too :runaway:
