Hi,

Im in my final year at uni and i've got to complete my dissertation in early January. Im really struggling to find relevant info and was wanting some help from you people in the know.

I have a working title of "Influencial Heights" in which i was going to discuss a brief overview of the first tall buildings i.e. Pyramids to Castles and onto skyscrapers. I was trying to highlight how the meaning and use of these buildings has changed over time and why now people still have the need to build tall. Didn't know wheather to look at the phsycology behind it? However im finding it hard to attain info on this theme and wanted to ask for your help if any of you know on any publications, books, jourals, websites, etc that would be usefull?

My dissertation is 6k-8k words and didn't know if my title was too wide and should i narrow it down to looking at a spacific city or something.

Any help would be so great!

Thanks,
Ben

if your speaking about history, please dont forget San Gimignano.
Its about power, impression, (why are churches tall), its being economical, LOADS of factors.

About history (and more) you can also learn a lot from a documentary available in emule "A short history of tall buildings" it's got 3 parts of 1 hour each, from San Gimignano to the Burj Dubai.

It's the most popular p2p program, people uses it to (illegally) download music, movies, programs, etc.
