Dublín es la capital y la ciudad más grande de la República de Irlanda y la ciudad más grande de la isla de Irlanda, ubicada cerca del centro de la costa este de Irlanda, en la boca del Río Liffey y en el centro del Condado de Dublín. Originalmente fundada como el centro del comercio Vikingo de esclavos, la ciudad ha sido la ciudad capital de Irlanda desde la Edad Media.

La ciudad consiste del área del Consejo de la Ciudad de Dublín junto con suburbios contiguos en el Condado de Dublín. Éste último está sub-dividido en los condados administrativos de Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, Fingal, y el Consejo del Condado de Dublín Sur. El Gran Área de Dublín consiste en la Ciudad de Dublín y el Consejo junto con los condados contiguos de Kildare, Meath, y Wicklow.

La población de la ciudad propiamente era de 495,781 en el censo del 2002. Más allá, en el mismo censo, la población urbana (conurbación) era de 1,004,614, la población de la ciudad y condado del Condado de Dublín era de 1,122,821 mientras que en el Gran Área de Dublín tenía 1,565,446.

a mi me mandaron a estudiar cerca de dublinpor dos anios, y despues de un tiempo ya no aguantava lo nublado y la lluvia
