pipapipo310 December 8th, 2006, 08:07 AM Why dont Vietnam have SUPER-FANTASTIC LANDMARKs?
Just think off this. For a further vision of Vietnam future, we cannot depend on current landmarks, like, QUocTUGiam, Chua Mot Cot or Lang Bac (watever like this)!
Vietnam should be like DUBAI (!?!?!) [that s wat I want, but SILLY]
DUBAI have been alwasy trying to have more and more SUPER - FANTASY Landmarks =p~ I just want some for my beloved Vietnam
Siddude December 8th, 2006, 07:17 PM Dubai is gay, man! All they have going is their mineral resources. I agree, VN needs a landmark for the 21st Century. Something along the line of the Bank of China building in Hong Kong would be cool.
tq December 8th, 2006, 07:30 PM The Financial Tower will become a new landmark! Bai Chay too!?
pipapipo310 December 8th, 2006, 08:10 PM I want something in Hanoi (HN is capital city man :)) , and my hometown too :D)

hetfield85 December 9th, 2006, 06:39 AM Vietnam needs to invest heavily in infrastucture as the current infrastructure is quite inadequate....after that Vietnam can consider building some world class landmarks :)
coolink December 10th, 2006, 01:54 AM no
we usually like to build a big building first.....then we write articles on how wonderful the government have put money, thoughts and efforts into it................infrastructures come much much later.....infrstructures are number zero

Before VN can build a kickass landmark, it needs to build an infrastructure first and foremost.
The highway system in VN is a joke. Where else do you drive a car and dodge a cow at the same time on the highway?
I rather see VN build a freeway that connects the North-South or an efficient railway system first than a landmark building.
nguyenamese December 10th, 2006, 07:07 PM the super landmark should be build in HUE, something like a huge monument of Buđdha, or a Viet-cham style temple. no more chinese ones
pipapipo310 December 10th, 2006, 09:29 PM As a Vietnamese we know how to entertain in our cities, then, we go abroad, we still know where should we go for entertaining. But FOREIGNERs, sometime, I wonder how can they re interested with Vietnam and come to visit. Haha. Just my stupid feeling ....
coolink December 10th, 2006, 10:16 PM what are you talking about Hue
big landmarks should be everywhere in major cities to represent and become an icon of that city.like the Sydney opera house, big ben or eiffel tower....Saigon is big but it's hard to find something to represent saigon....."ben thanh market"? that belongs to the old days.....and deffinitely not the saigon trade 33 storeys like in those propaganda signs posted on the streets
and big landmarks should be built especially in remote places where people don't want to go...that way you can promote economy and tourism for those underdeveloped regions
