there's a few bronx hoods I love, few i lived in

I always liked Bedford Park around the parkway, esp on a summer day.

Wakefield, white plns rd above 180th, kingsbridge

I'm quite fond of that area around woodlawn, mostly because i still have alot of family in yonkers on the other side...but towards the other end of mclean ave.

I'm curious about Riverdale. Ok this may sound crazy but I remembered my ex gf's Archie comicbooks. Ok Archie and his friends live in Riverdale but I was wondering if that's the one in The Bronx.

How about Co-op City? Isn't that in the Bronx?

Riverdale is akin to Douglas Manor or Forest Hills Gardens in Queens, in that it's an upper-class white neighborhood that happens to be within city limits. Aside from the fact that people unfamiliar with the city tend to be "surprised" that such a neighborhood exists in the Bronx, it's silly because that's like being "surprised" there are rich neighborhoods in DC or Baltimore or any other large city with an overall poor reputation. Or reputation of being poor, whatever.

Edgewater Park is by far the most interesting neighborhood in NYC, and it's in the Bronx.

^^^yeah thats quite common with people not from the area.. but you know not everyone in riverdale is upper class, i'd say its a good mixed hood

and I agree edgewater park is an interesting place

the main throroughfares are riverdale av and broadway (which ironically continue as two of the main throughfares into Yonkers)

there are even a few subsections that some people can't decide are diff neigbhorhoods like fieldston or spuyten duyvil (which is quite an interesting place, esp on the tracks good place to bring a girl but i digress)

wanch I don't think the Riverdale in the archie books is the same one, I dunno I always thought it was like the springfield that was on the simpsons.

Co-op city is in the Bronx, yes
its an alright place i never was too crazy about it, but its crazy the views you can get up in the buildings. the views some the friends and family I had living in there were crazy. But also when your standing on the ground far away Co op is still very visible. its very massive

to my qns people, there are some buildings in bayside that remind me of co-op but i'm not sure what they're called.

I've been living for a couple of years in Pelham Bay (last stop of the 6 train, close to Co-Op). Nice and quite residential area, it has a mixture of italians, irish and hispanic residents. It feels a lot like a small town. I work in Manhattan so coming home is kind of a getaway everyday hehe...

My family used to live in the Bronx near the Bronx park. I also have family in Woodlawn and Yonkers.

BTW what makes Edgewater Park so interesting?
