I remember a map showing the future inner ring along with the other planned main roads. But it was a long time ago and I don't know where to look for it. Can somebody direct me to it or repost it?

Love the modern design, especially the way the glass bends on top... but it'll take more than 2 years to built unlike it's mentioned in the paper

Come on people, express your opinion, dont just look at it
When they start building it...we'll talk about it. Until then...there's nothing to say. I don't particularly trust these projects taken up by some rich personal investor (particularly when that rich guy is Albanian)...
Plisat December 12th, 2007, 04:19 PM Ekrem Lluka is one of most rich Kosovars...he is the owner of Dukagjini company and does several other buisnesses. he bought Peja Bier and brought experts from Germany to raise this bier in world highes levels, when Peja Bier is quite good for drinking. Used to be one of most recognise biers in former Yugoslavia.
The guy knows what he does, and I know he is not in the middle of those people that talks and dosent do anything....
otherwise he works and dont talk a lot.... example of Bexhet Pacolli that build half of Russia and didnt do anything in Kosova.....
Kapedani December 12th, 2007, 05:31 PM Well I hope it is so then...I don't know who any of these people are.
AltinD December 12th, 2007, 06:34 PM Bexhet pacolli didn't build half Russia, his construction company did allot of jobs in Russia. I mean is not that Pacolli paid to build in Russia, he got paid to do it by Russians.
Just wanted to clarify ... and no one build anything major with his own money. It's always bank financing.

thank you for that clairification. I took it literally and i started thinking to myself...how can one man build half of such a huge country? But now everything is fine, thanks to you :).
7t December 12th, 2007, 09:28 PM LMAO i was thinking the same thing till Altin came to clarify things.... a great thanks for that, now we get it.

liburni December 14th, 2007, 07:42 AM Any approximate idea when was that old photo of Pristina taken?
my guess would be late 40's early 50's...could be a lil later...but no later than 60's.
AltinD December 14th, 2007, 10:03 AM ^^ That kind of car was not yet available in the 50s, let alone the '40s. So atleast '60s I would say.

by mid 60's, and all through 70's Prishtina experienced the most development....In that picture...Prishtina looks awfully small...good indication that that picture has got to be from at most the early 60's
mojaBL December 15th, 2007, 03:15 AM i like it better before than now it looks more charming at least on the photo.
vari k. December 15th, 2007, 06:20 AM someday somebody's gonna take that picture from now and compare it to Prishtina 2030
AnonymvsBeaver December 16th, 2007, 06:20 AM Yeah, the old picture looks better; somehow cleaner and more European. The new picture looks chaotic, unfinished - not unlike many other places in the Balkans, though.

AltinD December 19th, 2007, 11:42 AM ^^ I think it needs a better design, this one looks a little bit messy, especially with the clock halfway up there.
Realek December 25th, 2007, 02:42 AM I remember a project called international village.
Does anyone know how much inhabitants will it have roughly?
liburni December 25th, 2007, 05:33 AM I remember a project called international village.
Does anyone know how much inhabitants will it have roughly?
well...i think in total it had some 111 houses....so it all depends on how many people per family....lets say 4 people on average so about 450 people.
dewrob December 25th, 2007, 10:00 AM @Realek are you trying to make a paralel with Soncev grad or Zajcev rid? :)
Considering what liburni said that project is probably on par with the future Soravia village in Skopje.

Kind off... but I was under the impression that international village was larger. You are right though, it is more similar to Soravia Olympic Village size vise.
is there any renderings about it ?
Unfortunately not yet. But this project was just announced by Soravia (they bought the land some 10 days ago), so I hope we will soon have some good renderings.

liburni January 7th, 2008, 06:06 PM Ndėrprerja e kaosit urbanistik nė Prishtinė prioritet i angazhimeve, thotė Isa Mustafa
Riorganizimi i administratės komunale, formimi i policisė ndėrtimore, pėrfundimi i projektit tė unazės sė qytetit dhe rrumbullakimin e rregullimit tė qendrės sė qytetit, do tė jenė punėt e para tė cilat do tė shihen nga qytetarėt e Prishtinės, thotė kryetari Isa Mustafa.
Po kėshtu i pari i Prishtinės premton njė disiplinė tė lartė nė administratėn komunale pėr tė penguar praktikat e shpėrdorimit tė detyrės. Pėrsa iu takon shėrbimeve publike Mustafa pret fillimin e implementimit tė Planit tė Ahtisaarit, me tė cilin parashihet qė kėto shėrbime t’iu kthehen nė menaxhim komunave.

I live in Prishtina and I know the location where WTC is giong to be build
(at the bill clinton boulevard) at some unfinished buildings since the war .Those buildings are going to be destroyed to make place for the WTC . They have started to destroy those buildings but they stopped because the new year and stuff. I think theyre going to continue soon
I will try to get some pictures when I pass by

Translation: Turkish government has donated 100 million Euro to build Southeastern European Technical University in Pristhtina. They demand 250 hectare land from Prishtina municipality for this project.
Do you have some more information (like a render for example)
SkaNdErBeG January 12th, 2008, 11:23 PM Do you have some more information (like a render for example)
unfortunately no, the article didnt include any render... I dont think this project is even in the design fase yet.. Only the amount of money is secured... The land requested , must be provided first, and then later we will see som renders i believe.
Welcome to SSC forum BCprishtina

liburni January 14th, 2008, 04:36 AM I really believe that Isa Mustafa will be very effective in stoping illegal building and destroying most of what has been built ilegally thus far. This will be helped by the creation of the "Construction Police" (policia ndertimore)
Furthermore...the image of LDK depends on his governance of the city and he seems very sencere which matters the most, unlike ismet beqiri.
SkaNdErBeG January 14th, 2008, 04:53 AM http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/6421/profisech6.jpg
He looks pretty scary if you ask me... i had a bad gut feeling about this guy..
liburni, he was in the municipality administration under beqiri period also.. if he will do a good job or not - is something he will have to prove with time.. i certainly hope he will contribute to solve some of the many problems Prishtina is facing...but doing a worse job than beqiri shouldnt really be an ambition for anyone, because to manage worse than that - would be a real challenge..

dont worry, tirana has already moved incredibly fast.. plus in 2007 no building permits being given to constructors, no wonder everything has slown down.. 2008 will be different though, some permits has already been given in the very beginning of this year..

Prishtina doemos duhet ta ketė statusin e veēantė si kryeqytet, do tė bėjmė pėrpjekje sė bashku me Ministrinė e Pushtetit Lokal, ta procedojmė Ligjin pėr status tė veēantė tė Prishtinės, nė Kuvendin e Kosovės, tha Mustafa.
Njė gjė e tillė do tė krijonte lehtėsira nė tė gjitha fushat, si dhe do tė tėrhiqte vėmendjen e investitorėve, dhe do tė krijonte mundėsin e marrjes sė kredive, pėr zhvillimin e Prishtinės, u shpreh Mustafa.
Leonid Markaryan, tha se administrata e UNMIK-ut, ka pasur dhe do tė ketė bashkėpunim tė ngushtė me udhėheqjen komunale dhe do tė shtrijė ndikimin e saj nė pėrkrahje tė pėrgjithshme dhe sidomos do tė keni pėrkrahje pėr jetėsimin e ndėrrimit tė statusit tė Prishtinės, nga komuna nė qytet, sepse ėshtė shumė e arsyeshme qė Prishtina duhet tė ketė status tė veēantė nga komunat tjera.
Ndryshe, takimet nė mes kryetarit tė Komunės sė Prishtinės dhe pėrfaqėsuesve komunal tė UNMIK-ut, do tė jenė tė rregullta, thuhet mes tjerash nė komunikatėn pėr opinion tė lėshuar nga Zyra pėr marrėdhėnie me publikun pranė KK Prishtinės.

There arent any boards yet because they havent started to construct it yet
theyve just started to destroy the buildings which were previously there to make place
(you might think (from the photo of the site) that what you see in this photo was made recently but actually that was there for a long time( since before the war) )
btw, most projects in Prishtina just start and stop for a really long time (I hope that wont happen with this projects)
but still I think it will take a long time before they actually start building it

Its ilegal. Its built on the proprty of the University. Its only there to not stir any trouble, but it has no purpose and it does not fall under the criteria of unesco. It is simply an an ilegal, unfinished project which should be demolished and if need be, rebuilt elsewhere to serve the orthodox afiliates.

I totally agree with you...but a lot of people all around balkans profit in the name of stability, overpowering the rule of law. Not to say that Prishtina Municipality doesnt have other ilegally built buildings to demolish and its gotta deal with this one, but this is in the center of the city, and it just gives the city a ghsotly feel. Not only that but it covers a huge area of land, which could otherwise be used for development or for the expantion of the University.
B.C. prishtina January 15th, 2008, 08:39 PM ... Not only that but it covers a huge area of land, which could otherwise be used for development or for the expantion of the University.
I dont think that is coming down anytime soon and as for the university its true that this is in the universitys grounds but its not the only illegal building there:ohno:
I dont know if youve noticed some old shaks right in front of it
these not only make it look "Roma" they also are on the best part (right in front of the RTK building) and the municipality cant destroy these people's houses because they wont accept a compensation:wallbash:

Mali January 16th, 2008, 12:38 AM Tirana syndrome has affected Pristina too (color wise).
Mali January 16th, 2008, 04:29 AM They should finish building that church, it's a shame that in nine years nothing has been done.
mojaBL January 16th, 2008, 12:24 PM Are you implying that BL was some Serb city  Before Ottomans even founded the town, the fort or village there was catholic and serbs weren't in sight  Everything built served BL population that was 90 % muslim.. I dont think history of BL begins in 1970-s.. oh yeah, world champions in destroying religious objects of other nation probably belongs to Serbs due to the splendid feat of destroying more then a thousand mosques.. I just dont understand why were all of the serbian churches not destroyed by serbs in Bosnia since the ottomans build most of them..
new history from new nation.
B.C. prishtina January 16th, 2008, 01:16 PM They should finish building that church, it's a shame that in nine years nothing has been done.
Nothing has been done because that illegal "church" doesent belong there
It should have been taken down a long time ago
B.C. prishtina January 16th, 2008, 01:33 PM the municipality can just demolish those houses, with expropriation as legal ground (they dont need to be asked) and giving them marketprice as compensation for the land (if the land is theirs)... the law should be enforced, teaching those bastards a lesson for life, plus serving as a preventive example for others that stand in the way..
Heres another example in bregu i diellit
in the area coverd in red (it goes on) there was planned to be a school but some people built their houses there and the municipality has done nothing about it
The house coverd with black wasnt destroyed by the municipality but by the owner (selatin novosella) who wanted to build a 4-6 floor building
fortunetly someone notifyed the police .They stopped him but the house has been like that for more than three months now
http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii247/Bi_C/CIMG2544.jpg
SkaNdErBeG January 16th, 2008, 01:37 PM ^^ sooner or later all this crap is going to be demolished, and the bastards breaking the law will lose alot of money... In the cases where they dont own the land they cant even demand compensation...

Komuna e re e Prishtinės ka nisur aksionin pėr rrėnimin e objekteve
ilegale nėpėr kryeqytet. Rrėnimet e para kanė ka tė bėjnė me ndėrtime
tė vogla, si garazhe, autolarje, anekse e disa imtėsia tė tjera.
Prishtinė,17 janar Komuna e
Prishtinės zotohet se, Drejtorati
i Inspeksionit ka filluar rrėnimin
e disa ndėrtimeve pa leje nėpėr
kryeqytet.
Kėto ndėrtime, nuk kanė tė
bėjnė me objektet e banimit, pra
me ndėrtesat shumėkatėshe tė
ndėrtuara ilegalisht, por kanė tė
bėjnė me disa anekse, garazhe,
autolarje e disa gjana tjera edhe
mė tė vogla.
Rrėnimi i disa prej kėtyre objekteve
ka filluar tė enjten, kryesisht
nė lagjen Kodra e Diellit.
Sipas zyrės sė informimit nė KK
tė Prishtinės, Drejtorati i Inspeksionit,
pasi ka pėrfunduar disa
procedura tė parapara, tė enjten
ka filluar me aksionin pėr rrėnime.
Kompania Park Projekt, e kontraktuar
nga Komuna pėr tė bėrė
rrėnimet pa leje, ka filluar aksionin
nė anekset pa leje nė rrugėn
Xhemajl Mustafa, nė lagjen Dardania.
Pastaj ka vazhduar me rrėnimin
e dy etazheve tė njė ndėrtimi
pa leje nė rrugėn Rexhep Mala,
nė lagjen Kodra e Diellit.
Po tė enjten, u bė edhe rrėnimi
i njė kati pėrdhes i njė objekti pa
leje nė rrugėn Hilmi Rakovica,
po ashtu nė lagjen Kodra e Diellit.
Pronarėt e ndėrtimeve pa leje,
nuk u dolėn nė pengesė as Inspeksionit
komunal e as kompanisė
qė bėnte rrėnimet, por fyerjet
e familjarėve tė ndėrtimeve
nuk munguan aspak ndaj Komunės,
e sidomos ndaj kryetarit tė
ri, Isa Mustafa.
Nipi jem ka dashtė me maru
autolarje nė oborr tė shtėpisė. Ai
nuk ka uzurpu tokė tė huaj si tė
tjerėt, e qė Komuna nuk po i
ngucė fare, tha nėna e ndėrtuesit
Skėnder Gjonbalaj, nė rrugėn
Hilmi Rakovica
Kushėriri i Gjonbalajt, Xhevit
Peci, u ankua nė kryetarin Mustafa,
duke thėnė pėr tė se ka filluar
tė punojė njėjtė si ish-kryetari,
Ismet Beqiri, duke e mashtru
popullin me do rrėnime tė
kota.
Qe, vetėm 10 metra ėshtė objekti
shumėkatėsh pa leje tė ndėrtuar.
Aty nuk guxon as me u afru
Mustafa, e le ma me i rrėnu.
Kėshtu vjen rrėnon nė tokė tė pronarėve
tė vet, siē ėshtė ky rast
kėtu, tha Peci.
Asnjė ndėrtim i madh pa leje
nuk po preket nga Komuna, tha
njė banor tjetėr aty i mllefosur
me zyrtarėt komunalė.
Me i krahasu ndėrtesat e mėdha
me autolarje ėshtė vetėm
mashtrim. Qe rasti asht kur para
Komunės ndėrtuesi ilegal e ka vu
plloēėn dhe askush nuk po e pengon,
tha Bashkim Gashi, qytetar
i kėsaj lagjeje.
Inspektorėt e KK-sė nė vendin
e ngjarjes, thonė se ata vetė zbatojnė
urdhrat nga lart dhe se varet
edhe nga buxheti komunal,
sepse rrėnimi kushton, e sidomos
pėr objektet e mėdha.
Rrėnimi kushton shumė. Pastaj
rrėnimet fillohen nga mė tė
voglat pėr tė shkuar te mė tė mėdhatė,
tha njė inspektor komunal.
Aksioni, sipas Komunės, ka
vazhduar po kėtė ditė edhe nė
rrugėn Bajram Bahtiri, pėr tu
rrėnuar njė objekt afarist pa leje,
pėr tė shkuar mė pas edhe nė rrugėn
Luan Haradinaj, pėr tė ndėrprerė
njė ndėrtim sapo tė nisur.
Rrėnimet do tė vazhdohen tė bėhen

The way it looks now: http://www.grandhotel-pr.com/
However when it got privatised a few years ago, the buyer obliged himself to invest 20 million euro in Grand Hotel... However until now, the owner hasnt done shit, so if he dont hurry up and fulfill every aspect of the privatisation contract by 2008 (which seems unlikely to happen as he is running short of time) - he will loose the hotel and be fined for the contract breach..

PrishtinaMr. David Blunt, chief of Great Britains office in Prishtina in a meeting held yesterday with the Mayor of Prishtina, Isa Mustafa, requested a land plot for the construction of the British diplomatic mission in Prishtina.
Mustafa stated that Prishtina has the pleasure and privilege to receive such a request, taking into account the support of Great Britain for the people of Kosovo on their road to independence. I will sit with my team and very soon will propose several potential locations for your mission, which you then can choose from, said Mustafa.
Mustafa and Blunt also discussed projects which the municipality will exhibit at the donors conference such as transit roads around Kosovos capital which the municipality cannot fund by itself.
Prishtina doubled in population to over 500,000 immediately after the war as Albanian refugees came back to razed villages. Public services such as water, garbage collection, roads, and housing are some of the problems that Prishtinas new mayor has promised to improve.

tij, do tė fillonte sė numėruari
sekondat e parė tė vendit
tė pavarur.
Kryetari Mustafa tregoi se
projekti i Merakut ishte pranuar
nga qeveria dhe se edhe vetė ai
nuk ėshtė aspak kundėr vendosjes
sė kėtij pirgu.
Kėshtu, ka mbetur qė pėr kėtė
projekt tė diskutohet edhe njė
herė javėn qė vjen nė mbledhjen
e Asamblesė komunale.
Ndryshe, ky rrėnim do tė duhej
tė bėhej vitin e kaluar, nga
udhėheqja e kaluar komunale.
Pėr shkak tė rregullimit tė
sheshit tė pavarėsisė nė kėtė hapėsirė,
nė qershor tė vitit 2007
udhėheqja komunale u pati
dhėnė afat pronarėve tė 16 lokaleve
qė pėr dy javė t’i rrėnonin
lokalet.
Pėrkundėr atij vendimi, rrėnimi
nuk u bė fare dhe pronarėt
e lokaleve vazhduan
punėn.
Pronarėt, si atė kohė qė kanė
qenė tė shokuar pėr shkak tė
rrėnimit, edhe sot, njėjtė i ka
kapur frika se kryetari i ri, Mustafa
seriozisht do t’i largojė nga
aty.
“Kur na patėn dhėnė afatin
qė m’u largu prej kėtu, nė
qershor tė vitit
tė kaluar, mė pati kapė
shumė paniku, se u
konė befasi pėr ne dhe
nuk e dija se ku me shku,
shka me ba”, tha Edmond
Gashi, pronar i njė dyqani aty.
Gashi tha se kėsaj radhe nuk
kanė marrė kurrfarė lajmi, por
ka dijeni qė shpejt do t’i heqin
prej aty dhe ėshtė nė pritje tė
marrjes sė vendimit.
Por, as sot, ky pronar thotė
se nuk e ka idenė se ēka do tė
bėjė, kur t’ia rrėnojnė lokalin,
sepse tė vetmin burim jetėsor
e ka kėtė dyqan, me tė cilin
mban familjen.
Sipas udhėheqjes sė kaluar,
pronarėve tė kėtyre dyqaneve
do t’iu bėhej zgjidhja duke u
dhėnė lokale nė shfrytėzim nė
tjetėr vend.
Ish-zėvendėskryetarit i Komunės,
Shefki Gashi, si njėri
ndėr implementuesit e kėtij
projekti, pati
treguar se marrėveshja
me shfrytėzuesit e lokaleve
ka qenė qė me ndėrtimin
e kompleksit afarist
banesor “Dodona”, qė do
tė ndėrtohet pėrballė objektit
tė Kuvendit tė Kosovės, kėta
shfrytėzues do tė kenė pėrparėsinė
e marrjes sė lokaleve me qira.
Por, planet kanė ndryshuar,
madje as rrėnimi nė atė kohė
nuk ėshtė bėrė fare. Tash kjo
punė ėshtė nė dorė tė udhėheqjes
sė re komunale.
BC prishtina : do you know anything about this residential and commercial complex "Dodona" that is supposedly going to be built near the parliament ?

Kompleks i ri qeveritar, kostoja 90 milione euro
E Hene, 25 Shkurt 2008

First I thought I was the place where the World Trade Centre will be build. But he showed me the "Plastika" location for World Trade Centre.
Later I heard the new for a "Mini Menhatan" of Pristina with many buildings more than 40 stores hight.
So we wait and see!!!!

7t March 4th, 2008, 01:23 AM I said it in this very forum more than a year ago that Prishtina has the potential to become a Skyscraper City because it is spacious enough and it has a large and wealthy diaspora. My words may just turn out to be true after reading the news yesterday. We're talking about massive projects here, over 40 levels. That's something you dont see in many european cities and the fact that they're waiting approval shows the projects are already in place.
I'm eagerly waiting to see the development of this "Lakrishte Skyscraper District". It should be fun:banana:

Plisat March 4th, 2008, 01:42 AM I know that the area that we are talking about is bought by unknown person in KTA bid. Not far from that place before 1990 were put the base for new RTK building. I know by the people that I spoke that was planed to be one of biggest television building in Eastern Europe. Do to situation the building was stoped. I know that RTK still poses that property.
Im very sure that my cousent has information about that, since he is on that field.
We are keep talking about the "Lakrishte" area. But I saw that Dragodane area is taking a good picture with many new apartament buildings. That field in the back of Pristina didnt look so nice, but with new apartament buildings gives Pristina a diffrent picture.
Plisat March 4th, 2008, 01:46 AM By the way no one to get suprised. Prishtina now is capital of a country, so we might expect lot of construction in the city and around it.
Espacially the area towards Hajvalia when the International Village is under construction. To be honest Im lucky, my dad owns about 5 hectars of land in that area. Im telling this becouse different people keep coming every day to try and by the land from my dad. So it is big interest for building, hope everything will go under control.........

Yes i am here...i had some business to take care of. You will get used to asia again i am sure. As for the mayor he seems like passive mayor and thats not what prishtina needs. they need an active mayor, but i dont think hes had enough time to prove himself. We will see how he turns out.
