Torrential rains across the whole island nearly brought to a standstill for traffic as flash floods and mudslides caused traffic jams and chaos in the city as rainfall continues to dump onto Singapore.
Due to Northeast Monsoon season around December and January, the artic winds brought from the Mongolian Plains bring a lot of moisture, resulting in heavy rainfall in the country at this time. Last few days' rainfall was the third worst in 75 years, with rainfall of almost 345mm falling in most parts of the island. Singapore has its only few disasters, floods and mudslides.
In this thread I am just going to show some pics taken by Singaporeans of the disaster we are facing now. ( Its not that life-threatening though).

Nita, 29, was on her way to work on Tuesday, 9.30am (19 December) when the bus she was on stopped suddenly at Old Woodland Road.

Initially she thought an accident had occurred but when the bus made a U-turn, she saw this “huge flood on the right side of the bus”.

Nita was very excited by the sight. “It’s like going back to Kampung days! How often do you get to see something like that in modern day Singapore?”

Even though the bus had to make a detour because of the flood, passengers did not complain as they managed to get to their destinations.

“I think some passengers were remotely happy because we got to travel on the PIE and we got to see a flood,” said Nita.
