We have a first artist impression of this tower. Construction should start later in 2007, and this is likely to become the next tallest of The Netherlands. (Tallest is now Montevideo, 152 m and we have 165 m Maastower UC).
In my opinion it is a NYC style and NYC scale project, I love it. It is part of a bigger project with some nice midrises up to 70 meters.
Total numer of appartments for the project is 700!

I actually really like this. The set backs are unusual and I love that part! Not you average box and its a good height.

Great height for Rotterdam of course, temporarily it's even the tallest.

What bla bla bla? Are u a sheep?
It's just a fact. I wouldn't surprise me if some taller plans will catch up in Roffa the comming years.
I guess you thought I wanted to get some attention for the Belle van Zuylen in Utrecht, 262 meter, but we're talking about Roffa here, u know what I'm saying?

my thoughts on this design - its very boring and modern, very dutch too. that means to me it will be a quality build but restrained, the dutch seem to have a very conservative approach to their architecture with only the occasional piece of post modern design motif that suggests its dutch.
i suppose i like showy architecture which is why it doesnt rock my boat much. despite this it appears to be a good example of what it is. i do like the massing of the scheme in the context of where it is placed in the city, i think it works well there as a peak and certainly adds a spot of density. i always have mixed feelings on rotterdam, or any dutch city having real canary wharf style density because it doesnt feel dutch. still, rotterdam needs some pinnacles.

This is a residential tower and in the top 5 (or even top 3?) of tallest residential scrapers in Europe, so it is special

That's true, but in that case it should compensate the height with magnificant architecture. Due to the lack of originality, this one won't be a nominee in a " most special skyscraper race" .
Nevertheless, it's a great tower. Places where you can live above 150 meter are still pretty uncommon in "Yurp";)

these guys from dam architects are certainly enjoying their 15 years of fame right now  their maastower is also a skyscraper that, for me, ranks right up there with the designs of some of the best architects in the world.
this building looks absolutely fantastic. great use of colour and apparant detail of the facade. it also blends in really well with the surroundings. hopefully the end product will look equally stunning as the render. in a couple of years rotterdam will look like a class city. hopefully the local government will also spend some money on polishing the city on the street level because right now, in some areas the place looks like a ghetto.

structural height as in puny spire, or structural height as in something big and useless so that it will actually look 185m?
