A nice peice in Baltimore, unfortunately overshadowed in my opinion by the rather 'odd' structures that popped up in the inner harbour over the years

micrip August 8th, 2008, 09:38 AM one question. has the crown always been that color? because I thought I saw a picture from a long time ago with a different colored crown
The crown has always been green, but has been recently restored, bringing out the original gold detail. Until this was done, it had a dull look. And for years, giant neon letters..."mn" for Maryland National Bank, obscured part of the crown. They changed color at night depending on the weather forecast.
When I think of my hometown, I think of this building, no matter what has been built since. It was the tallest building on the East Coast south of New York when it was completed. 9/10
