Has it been raining again in Dubai? WOW.
They may even have to think about some sort of drainage system. When I was there a couple of weeks back a lot of the streets were water logged for days after the rains had stopped. The water had nowhere to go.

RIght time to start this thread and the other one too....

Now we at MD2 can know whats going on around the srrounding areas!
In any case its good that the nearby areas are built quickly and are inhabited!

What about the plot close to the bridge in front of the Marina Pearl? On my last visit I saw some activity there too. Does anyone have any clue, what is being build there?

That picture looks like Blackpool beach in the summer in teh UK , only thing missing are two old people on thse deck chairs lol

I asked workers and they told me that this building is 30 floors high.

workers told me 30 floors but the basement seems too small for me.

i think the main contractor arrived , painted the fence today.They are still working , put some container offices in the site.

Maybe board is coming soon and we will see , what is this:)

I saw the site 3-4 times in this week , didnt see any workers there which is not a big problem because this site has never been busy.

With this progress the completion date is around 2020-2030 here.:)

why is it taking them 4 years (2006-now) to build 2-3 floors? At this rate Imre is right with the 2020 completion date

Same as before , I saw 2 workers there but no construction.

I think the developer is probably working on the easy low rise front tower to avoid losing the site as EMAAR put pressure on all developers to commence work or risk losing plots. Expect work on the rear tower to progress but slowly.

2-3 months work and after 1 year break again, usually this happening here .

Really a pity, the Marina will stay for years to come a construction site whereas cheaper projects out in the middle of nowhere ( look at some in Dubai land or even Sports City) have nice landscaping and a nice community feel.

For the whole completion we should wait another 5-10 years because of these projects like Marina Star, KPM,Dolce Vita ,Eden Blue .. etc..

Then if everything is done , need a double decker road or similar , so it will be construction forever:)
