Interbeton wins contract for 200-metre high office tower in Qatar

Bunnik, Netherlands, 2 June 2005 – Interbeton bv - the operating company of Royal BAM Group nv, active outside Western Europe - has been awarded a joint-venture contract for the Al Bidda Tower, a 43-storey office in Doha, the capital city of the State of Qatar.

The 200-metre high Al Bidda Tower for client The Platinum Tower Company, Doha has a contract amounting to approximately € 60 million, of which Interbeton’s share is half. The contract period is 28 months. The Al Bidda Tower will be built by Higgs & Hill Overseas Ltd, a local subsidiary of Interbeton, in joint-venture with Qatari Arabian Construction Company (QACC). Currently, both companies are also working together on the construction of the 237-metre high residential / office tower Park Place in Dubai.

Beautiful design, a great variation on the twisting tower concept

I dont think it will be easy to complete it during 2007, 2008 would be more realistic

Actually, that area is already all under construction, but it doesn't show that in the rendering.

I have no idea Omar! I have the same question in my mind. I think it is a multi-tier parking lot, or one of the Qatar-cool plants (or maybe both).

It's not on the map, so its probably a carpark or something else.

^^Wow, thx for the update. Can't believe the Barjeel tower (the tall one the right) is tall that it even in the background, its view is almost as if its the same height as the ones on the front.

I worked on the structural design of this tower - great to see it nearly topped out after all this time!

Why is there this thread and a different one under the Qatar section???

One here is to represent this tower and its progress to the public, (you can see it as well in the other towers.
