Is the rail connected to algeria?

The border between Morocco and Algeria is closed since 1994, because relations between this countries are very, very strained. The only real alternative to flying is to make a detour by sea through Spain.

http://souvenirs-de-mer.blogdns.net/IMG/jpg/ClemTillier-TGV-Res531.jpgTGV : Casablanca-Marrakech en une heure

Accueil > National

the new trains al already in use.
They are double-decker and thus much shorter in length, lower to the ground, and faster than the old ones
This train cuts the Rabat to Fez trip from 3.5 hours each direction to 2.25 hours.these trains are much more comfortable and it's easier to get luggage on and off.

I think it's wrong: that blue train is electrically powered, and Mauritania has only a nonelectrified railroad, with a lenght of 674 km, dedicated to iron ore transportation through Sahara desert, to be shipped at Nouadhibou Port.

On the ONCF site

Designed for trains running at 160 km/hr with speed peaks of 180 km/hr

I didn't now that

By being totally substituted for the conventional stock on the Casablanca – Rabat line, the double decker train constitute ONCF's answer to the expectations of millions of passengers sued to the TNR.

ONCF goes even further by soon proposing a new services for Casa Port – Rabat Ville in only 52 minutes!

Another sizeable innovation: the Casablanca – Fez line now enjoys the dual benefits of the two-track line and double decker trains for express connection taking only 3 hours and 20 min. for the trip between the two towns, as opposed to the 4 hours and 30 minutes formerly.

Currently this service is partially operational (1 round trip). It will be generalized progressively as the remainder of the series arrives bringing the rhythm of departures between Casablanca and Fez to one hour (1 express train followed by 1 local train).

Why not Casablanca - Oujda:ohno:

Why not Casablanca - Oujda:ohno:

The line east of Fes isn't electrified nor double-track.

These new duplex trains are made in italy
A pretty good design, i like them.

ONCF is making a good job. It will transform its statue in front of law to "SA", so it well get a new nomination "SNCF" (like the french, algerian ones)
