I go to a couple of bars in Jiyugaoka.

I think many of the clubs in Tokyo are now virtually dying or opening secretly. Also, they close very early, not opening till the morning. We must protect the people's life and culture from the conservative people. A world class city needs the proper night life. A lot of the foreigners arriving Tokyo at first, go to the nightclubs very often but then they gradually realise it gets boring since the government tries to crack down everything unnecessarily by all means. So they stop going to the clubs and stay at home and live like some typical Japanese do. Are you satisfied with this kind of life in Japan? At least, Roppongi should be kept away from the crazy anti-freedom right wingers becoming widespread across the nation these days.

Tokyo's night life definitely is one of the best, but not in terms of the nightclubs, which is a vital part of life for most people.
